I'm excited to reset

    I relapsed today. M but no P. The urge was the strongest I have felt during my 16 day streak. Before I did it, I found myself rationalizing the decision by thinking things like:
    "I'm going to do it eventually so I might as well" and "relapsing is a part of the recovery process."

    Although I relapsed, I am very proud of myself for going 16 days. I don't think I have ever gone more than 5 days. I am very excited to continue my journey and to start thinking of this as a lifestyle change and not just a new streak.

    The tricky part is that three days more and urges would be significantly reduced, because the brain would get used to the new situation, after this period of panic (the hardest after two weeks). However, I failed at the same moment, it's sneaky.
    And how? Have you noticed that it is really worth it? :)
    16 days is a lot, but remember, this is not a competition.
    You must stop pornography and masturbation, or at least reduce masturbation as much as possible

    I like your mental approach. You acknowledge the reset and take responsibility for it. But your focus is on the 16 good days rather than the single day you slipped up (partially as you didn't use porn). Try to keep these healthy thought patterns. :cool:

    With @Clean Willy , I like the focus on the 16 days abstinent. For almost 16 days, something was going well. What went well,and how can you extend that? And what can you add to it?

    Then, something DIDN'T go well. What was that? How can you defend against it?

    What's the next right thing to do?
