Today I slipped, And I have an urge to go back. there is so many important things that I need to accomplish today and in the coming months. I wish my wife was here with me. I believe I can do this, I haven't been counting days but out of about 80-90 days I have slipped 4 or 5 times. I want to focus on the positive because I know that part of the reason I slipped is i began responding to the triggers that I had initially ignored. I got arrogant and thought I had this thing beat, so i thought it would be ok to look and entertain certain Ideas.

    Lessons learned so far:
    • always remain humble
    • Be vigilant, once you know your triggers, do not entertain them.
    • find ways to deal with your emotions properly, FAPing is not a valid response
    • Focus on building yourself up.

I know I have much to learn and apply but I am confident that I have the power to overcome this.

Are there any words of wisdom that anyone can give?

Yes, you slipped, but you didn't fail. The only failure is quitting completely. "[Find] ways to deal with your emotions properly", for me, has been the most important lesson, especially anger. I find mediation to be extremely helpful, because it trains yourself to control your thoughts, which helps ignoring unwanted and random sexual thoughts and urges.

Meditation helps me a lot to stay on track, keep focused on my goal, helps maintain positive energy, avoid relapsing. Good luck.

Let me give you some tips that have worked well for me:

    - Put bandaids on your fingers (the more the better). The bandaids will help keep you aware of what your hands are doing and also serve as a reminder of your dedication to NoFap. If people ask what happened, say you cut your finger doing something incredibly manly.
    - When you need to use the internet, make a specific list of what you need to accomplish. Complete your list and log off. Don't randomly browse Google or YouTube. This will distract you and diminish your willpower.
    - Stand up when using your computer. It may be uncomfortable, but it will keep blood flowing to your extremities and your brain will be more aware. It will also shorten your time spent on the computer.

I hope these tips help you man. They certainly have helped me.

Hello gentlemen. I hope that all of you are continuing to remain motivated and in high spirits. A lot of great advice. Especially the advice regarding computer usage. I normally don't use my computer to watch porn, but I do use my best friend i.e. my cell phone. Though two different devices, I'm sure I can apply some similar techniques to my cell phone. For instance, not randomly scrolling through my phone at night before going to bed, which is normally when I'm tempted to Fap! Thanks again for the great advice.

Limiting cell phone usage before bed is a great idea! You will also notice an improvement in sleep quality as well. Electronic devices emit blue light, which suppresses the production of the sleep hormone, melatonin. So try to limit electronic screen exposure at least an hour before you plan to fall asleep.

the best advice that I can give is to make sure that you have no devices near you no tablets no phones no iPods no game systems nothin portable around you. And make sure you keep them in your drawer and go to sleep right away. I find that also going to a support group or engaging the community helps well. This is what I'm doing and it's going really good so far. I do have triggers but I am continuing to block them out. All the best to you.
