I need you suggestion

    Even though I eliminated this really bad habit (porn), I still have troubles dealing with social anxiety. It may sound crazy, but sometimes I didn't go out of my house for days, or few weeks. This isolation from society has made me feel like crap as same as porn did.

    So I decided to make change in my life. I am going to try some new things that will include social interactions outside the house, but I really need your help. So far I have this:

    1. Join salsa dance club when they open invitations
    2. Start to train cross.
    3. Train martial arts
    4. Study outside the house, in library.
    So far I have this, but I like to hear your suggestion, it would mean a lot to me. Thanks a lot.

    Hey Dinno,
    Sounds like a good start to your plan. There are many pieces to the puzzle of happiness. I've been working on putting the pieces together in my life, and it looks like this:

    - eating and sleeping well
    - socializing at least once a week with people I feel comfortable around
    - exercise (walking) every day - out of the house
    - being confident and relaxed in my work
    - working on a positive relationship (this won't apply to everyone)

    It might look a bit different to you, so you can make your own list.

    For me, getting out and socializing means a lot. I feel crap too if I don't see people for a week, but I also don't look forward to events and parties. Here's what I do:

    - avoid meeting with people who are a bad influence (haters, negative opinions)
    - sign up for a class or club in an activity you really like
    - think ahead for social time: if I'm feeling good on Sunday, I'll send out texts to friends for the upcoming week and arrange to see them a few days in advance. Then I'll have stuff to look forward to.

    If you're short of people to hang out with, check out your local public library, they usually have several groups you can meet. Alternatively there's meetup.com too, I can recommend it.

    Finally, don't battle with social anxiety alone. Seek professional advice or support groups for people who have the same problem. Also, read about it from books (often better than online).

    Socializing has been an issue for me but im slowly beginning to overcome it. The things you described seem like great ideas. After you start stepping outsude your comfort zone things begin to get so much easier. Interestingly I have found cold showers to be helpful as well - jumping into freezing water is just like jumping into conversation with someone new. Something to consider at least, good luck :D

    See if there are Meet-Up groups in ur area in a topic of interest. U could also start ur own meet-up group for others WITH social anxiety
