I’m only 18 years old and I have just realised I am thoroughly addicted to porn. I, like most of my generation started watching hardcore porn at 11 without even knowing really what it even was. I didn’t realise the side effects until I first had sex at 15 and quite frankly found it “boring”. After having sex with “20+” women in the last couple years in high school I thought my issue was fixed as I greatly reduced my use. However it always appeared to slip back into my life until I was watching it everyday sometimes twice a day. I now have a committed girlfriend and porn negatively effects my relationship with her to a massive degree yet I still can’t seem to kick the habit over an extend period of time. I never thought off myself as someone who could be addicted to porn because I never had issues picking up girls and certainly live a busy life but it has become normal for me to watch porn daily again.
I am also concerned the effects it’s having on my brain as i struggle to get excited for my GF (who I find hotter then 90% of pornstars). I am also becoming attracted to more perverted and hardcore material that I could never in a million years imagine myself doing.
I feel I just had to write out what my problems with porn are so I don’t go back.
If anyone could provide some info/motivaton as to why I should quite porn for good that would be great. Also if anyone has a strategy they have found works in the long term....
    Thankyou and let’s get Not-Fapping

Hey welcome first of all. It goes deeper than PMO and there are a lot of people here who are knowledgeable and have great perspective and you should easily come across their posts if you read the forums a bit.

For now I will just point out the effect on your brain isn't just in terms of the content of porn, it conditions it right down to the biochemical level. If you are not already familiar I'd suggest reading Your Brain On Porn by Gary Wilson. If the book feels like too much of an investment right now look up videos online about it to start with.

I can’t offer you strategy on quitting but as an SO of a PA if you will trust the process and let your GF help you along the way you will find a much more satisfying and meaningful life in the other side. Good luck!
