How long does it take to lose craving for masturbation?

I'm still early in my journey to conquer masturbation addiction. I've been masturbating for 8 years from the age of 12 to 19 years old. For those who have been successful in quitting, how long did it take you to lose craving for masturbation forever? Thanks. ;)

I've never been that far into rebooting, but from what I gather, you don't lose the craving at all. Instead, you gain strength to stop giving in to it.

The craving gets weaker though. But there will always be tough days.

Oh. I thought it's like nicotine addiction which we can stop craving forever. :(

I suppose most former nicotine addicts have tough days themselves. But I'm not an expert. Maybe people who have rebooted think differently about it.

yeah that's true but dont let it put you down even if the craving won't stop that easily,
by the time you have had the strength to leave from several weeks you'll be most likely to
defy face to face your problems,
wich could be traduced in having a good intimate partner depending on what you want,

so keep going men you are doing real good so far

    PEACE!

For me it took me 3 days but I was able to do this
due to a medication that I take recommended by my therapist.

It made it 80% easier to quit PMO. It sort of destroyed my sex drive.
I am happy this way. I don't need to spend time, energy and effort
    doing that anymore.

as long as we are human males im pretty sure it will never go away, but the thing is, is that our will is stronger and we can stop it if we want it to, thats the change

The thing I hate about PMO is that whenever I do it,
my body asks for it again the next day. So it becomes
    a never ending cycle.

PMO bothers me because I have to spend time, energy and effort
doing that. Whenever I PMO the urges come back fast.

I thank God that I have low libido now.

Tough question and maybe the craving never goes away, but the goal may be to fulfill your life with other more interesting things besides masturbation. I'm not saying that M was not wonderful, but for me it was too much. I was obsessed with it, I did it too often, it interfered with my real world. Sitting alone in front of a computer PMO is not living a full life. Even without the P, and just MO that's not what the best of what life has to offer. Live large, have real sex with other people, that's where the action is.

Not sure if that helps, but I'm trying to improve my life and I know it's not going to get better if I keep PMO.

Good luck, you can do this!

    I think seventyniner hit it.
The temptation will always be there. But the further along you get without it, the more your confidence will grow and make it just that little bit easier to resist on the next night. So on and so forth.
Yeah, you'll have off days, rough days, I can testify to that. Had to reset my counter this morning because of one. That's why they made the Emergency Relapse Button, to inspire you to not. That's why we're here, to fist bump each other to awesomeness one day at a time.

well, I would say 90 days. The reason why we have a 90 days nofap challenge is because it takes these many days for our brain to rewire and reboot. The brain will still crave for masturbation as it has already been exposed to it, but the urges would be controllable.

I think it depends person to person...my personal experience is 1st week is tough after that it depends on your strength of will power and your strength of self control. During the 1st week the brain chemicals & subconscious mind are at very strong and you got to fight and overpower them to avoid Relapse.

Urges never go away though...they are latent and appear from time to time...as a stimulus to Stress, Emotional issue or any other issue...So Success is all depends on how you manage your streak avoiding triggers and consequently how fast you inculcate healthy habits as a replacement of your PMO habits.

I still don't think masturbation is a bad thing at all, and it helps one to know your body, strengthens the penis muscles and gives you more control during actual intercourse. Like anything moderation is the key. I don't know how much is "too much" but I'd guess masturbating several times a day is too much. I'm not talking about pornography, I'm assuming we're trying to leave that out of the picture and just have normal masturbation. Then again, if pure willpower and self control is the objective then I suppose total abstinence is a worthy goal.
