How can I prevent the chaser effect??!!

So I just relapsed, but I'm not too worried since I managed to beat my previous streak, so I'm just going to pride myself with that.

The only thing I am worried about is the chaser effect. i managed to relapse because I disabled restriction on my phone and was able to get to porn. i don't have an accountability partner to keep my restrictions password so I'm in control of it sadly, but I'm too embarrassed to tell any of my friends about my addiction or ask them to keep my password.

So, what steps can I take to insure that I have a relapse-free week??

I'm just about to go for a 9km walk to cool off, but I have nothing to do for the rest of the day or week.

Also, I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow. Should I mention anything to him about it?

First you need to realise that if you give in to your urges, they won't go away. Fapping doesn't get rid of them, not fapping does, and the easiest way to do this is to put your energy into something else that's physical. Sports or jogging, maybe even a hobby like painting, just get your mind and energy off of your addiction.

That's some really great advice. I'm just watching a YouTube video on the subject of NoFap and the guy is really saying the same thing. Thanks!

You avoid the chaser effect by avoiding PMO.
Without a relapse there is no sense of a chaser.

That's true, but I already relapsed. I just need a way to get through the first week or so just to make sure I don't fall into the chaser effect. Hopefully I can do it :)

The faster you bounce back, the better it will be, but the absolute best is to avoid the relapse.
Once you have relapsed, it takes some hard fighting to avoid binging.
    A variety of things help:
    Social interaction with real people
    Heavy exercise
    Hard work
    Prayer/meditation
    Activity
    Cold showers
While fighting the chaser effect, you have extra energy. Use it. Clean your room, study, fix something, but do not sit down in front of your computer. It is too easy to do what you really don't want to do, so do anything else.
