I'm an undergraduate doctor who is looking forward to specialize in surgery. Recently I'm being greatly affected by an unintentional tremor in both of my hands. This can totally disrupt my career. I've been addicted to masturbation since I was 10 years old and got on with pornography at 17 years. I masturbate at least once a day. My sexual desires are also different; being mainly centred upon masoichism and dominance. No ordinary sex interests me. Because of this recent "tremor" catastrophe, I started refraining from masturbation and porn from yesterday. I have already spent one day. Got to know of this site today. I think it can be helpful for me. Thak you!

  2. Welcome! Committing to no PMO will provide many benefits. I hope that an end to this tremor in your hands is one of them!

  3. Hi there,

Have you seen another doctor about the tremor in your hand? Because that isn't a commonly reported symptom of porn addiction. But hey, anything is possible and doesn't hurt to try quitting porn to see how it effects you!

One of my senior colleagues recommended doing a thyroxine test. My TSH/T4 was quite normal. I should repeat the test in 6 months. Then he referred me to a neurosurgeon. I'm trying to do and try this before visiting a neurosurgeon. I'm somewhat suspicious that I am having Parkinson-like symptoms; quite a few of them including cogwheel rigidity of hand. As I do not have a family history of Parkinsonism and as I am in my early twenties, I think that Parkinsonism can be ruled out. However, I know that excess masturbation can result in exhaustion of dopaminergic pathway (the same brain pathway affected in Parkinsonism) resulting in Parkinson-like symptoms.

  8. If it's only in one hand when at rest with cogwheel rigidity, I would go for an MRI to look at that....that does not sound like it's only due to behavior. Praying for your success and for your health and well-being, SG!
