HELP ME !

    I am 18 yrs old and have been masturbating since i was 13 years and now it has become like a drug. I can't get rid of it even if i try to control it for 3 to 4 days and max a week i just give in to it. Whenever i even try to sleep without masturbation my body doesn't let me sleep without masturbating and also whenever i am free for even an hour or two and left alone i just cant resist it. I NEED TO GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS SHIT FAP ADDICTION (sorry for the language). So please help me

    It's because you're addicted. You're going to experience these withdrawals and you're body will have to get used to sleeping without that release. If you're serious about overcoming this, you'll have to work for it and accept there may be sleepless nights and strong urges. Are you capable of lying there in bed at 4am with work the next day and unable to sleep while your dick is rock hard and begging to be touched? If the answer is yes, then you'll be alright and come out the other side much stronger.

    Welcome to NoFap. You are 18 and you have realised about your addiction and trying to get over it. Believe me many of us have realised it at a very older age, so feel positive or good that you have realised it at such a early stage that many of us have not. So you have a upper hand.

    You have mentioned that you can control it for a maximum period of 7 days, feel it. Its a sign that you have the ability to start to get rid of your addiction. Relasping is a part of rebooting so don't get yourself exhausted on that. On the sleep part sometimes I had felt it when I masturbated before bed the sleep was quite good but you have to remember that our penis is not a sleeping pill, so don't try to take it that way. See in my case exhaustion and tiredness helps me to get a good sleep. Apart form your daily activities try to take up a exercise routine it will help you to get a better sleep. Exposure to light is another thing during sleep that affects when you are sleeping make sure the room is dark. Try to calm down yourself before sleeping and please say no to the smartness of the smart phone before sleeping means irrelevant texting, checking status, etc. Me myself also have a problem that I have a tendency to watch tv or watch a movie before going to sleep that is also bad but still can't overcome. Don't masturbation be the cause of tiredness or the soothing effect to have a sleep. When you stop masturbating your body will react in a different way because its natural when you try to overcome a habit of yours differently, keep up and let the barin rewire itself.     I know between telling and doing there is a huge gap. Again celebrate that you have realised and decided to get rid of your addiction at the age of 18 a vast road of happiness and accomplishment lies ahead of you when you will get rid of this addiction.

    Thank you for your reply. I have a question though how much sleepless nights would be if i stop masturbating at night
    Also, I haven't seen any marks of this "SHIT" getting my confidence low (i can speak with confidence in an event or in public) or my skills of talking with females getting low and I don't objectify women(mostly) and to be more precise and truthful i want to keep my virginity till i get married ( don't laugh). The major problem i am suffering is anxiety when not needed... and a bit of dullness in memory and alertness(only). So can these problems be tackled as well from NoFap !

  8. Hi @APK. welcome to NoFap.
    If you cannot sleep, you can try several things.
    First is going to the gym or doing workout at home before going to bed. Usually this helps.
    Otherwise you should try meditation, or starting to practice yoga or Tai Chi. I have been practicing tai Chi since I started my reboot and helped me a lot to release all the steam I used to release by fapping. It also helps opening new paths in your brain, which is what you need to "rewire).

    It is a big step if you can understand what is triggering your urges, because this will allow you to be awake and kill those urges as soon as they appear.

    I recommend you to create your own "Emergency Toolbox" with readings that can be handy to read when you start feeling urges to screw up.

    I also suggest you to read "Breaking the Cycle" by George Collins, it is a must-read if you are serious about getting rid of this addiction.

The course is great but the best value are the weekly video calls with @alexander (the creator of NoFap and NoFap Academy) and Mark Queppet, where you can chat with them in real life and listen to other guys's stories and problems too.

    You just can't calculate how much sleepless night you are going to have if you stop masturbating. Please don't try to focus on these things . At first I was actually quite serious with the streak numbers but then one day I relasped and posted it here, one fellow member here told me not get obesse with the numbers and it really helped. Its a process that will take time differently for different persons because we are not all same, our problemas are not also same. Let it heal your brain will do the part just control your urges and don't fall or relaspe. When your body and brain is tired you feel sleepy automatically for that your hands doesn't have touch your penis. Don't treat your penis as a sleeping pill.

    As for anxiety part, from my opinion you have to locate what is causing your anxiety thats it then try to overcome it by talking to others, posting your problem here, takinga professional help,etc see this place is not just for porn addiction only. Yes anxiety, dullness in memory and alertness can be tackled through NoFap. Search the ineternet reagrding this you will find many have find that after quitting PMO they have high alterness, sharp mind and brain, less anxiety, their depression is getting low, gaining confidence, increase stamina, boost ib confidence,etc. So all these cannot be false and as for me you have to locate the reason for your anxiety and work on that. Meditation, exercises and various other forms are there to overcome your anxiety.

    First off you have no idea how much of a headstart you have by identifying this problem at the age of 18. I wish I knew the same info you know at the age of 18 let me tell you what happened to me and what caused me to try change and maybe that will help you. I started consuming P at the age of 13 by the age of 17 I used to leave school early and use my birthday money to buy P dvds on the way back home. After drop-in g out from college I started building websites and blogs which was my source of income and I spent hours and hours consuming P on daily basis looking for that perfect scene. Fast forward 2 years ago in September I started off my day feeling depressed it was really weird and noticable. After having dinner with my family I went to bed I was turning from one side to the other and could not fall a sleep all of the sudden my heart started beating fast or so I felt, couple that with tremendous feeling of anxiety. I thought I was going to die I got up and wanted to call 911... To make a lot g story short that was only the begging what followed was 2 years of depression, anxiety, failure in Business, hundreds of relapsed and worst of all PE. Let me tell you the best way to stop is to read all the withdrawal symptoms that guys experience if the don't stop early on. Just go over the forum and read all the negative side effect that get worse with time and should be enough to stop any one who cares about himself. With regards to strategies for your situation I would say take a cold shower before you go to sleep ( when I say cold I don't mean freezing cold water, what you should do is make the water lukewarm step in the shower and than start raising the cold water until the water is slightly more cold than warm.) That should help you fall asleep and kill off the erection.

    Thanks for sharing your story with me it really helped me and now i have a prove that it causes mood swings(i also have mood swings). However the idea of cold shower won't be suitable as it is winters in my country and the part i live in is gets to 2 to 3 degrees every night !

    As of now, I have downloaded the extension of NoFap So it helps me and if i start having those vicious thoughts i just turn of my cellphone and laptop. Also, i am currently being working for an upcoming competition so i usually get tired by night and then go of to sleep
