    Hi everyone.

I have been trying to quit porn for over a year (longest streak 10 days).
I had installed web blockers on my computer but I always eventually found a loophole that would allow me to view porn. I like me when I don't use Porn and I generally do feel a whole lot better without it. Every time I PMO I have a feeling of shame and disgust at myself. I've tried to talking to my friends about it but they don't seem to think that it is a serious issue and I don't trust them enough to allow any one of them to become an accountability partner.

I will be moving houses soon and I plan on using the new environment to kick this disgusting habbit.

Any help or tips are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading my post and hope you have a wonderful day.

  2. In the exact same boat as you. Only advice I can give is to find a full proof way to block it.

    Pm me if you want

Hey I have tried fully blocking it but I find a way to overcome my blocks

ie using phone, using a GAME web browser, using imgur, using reddit, watching softcore, going on IG.

So instead I took off all blocks and figured I should be able to overcome it without relying on outside software to help.

  4. I’ve just started this past January getting serious about stopping PMO.

It’s been hard (really hard!) but best thing that’s worked for me is finding a new passion and spending lots of time with it. I’ve started losing interest in PMO and want to do the other activities more.

For me it’s been gym, wall climbing, and traveling. I’ve been going to the gym and hitting the weights, wall climbing, and getting out of town once a week.

When not doing those activities I’ll be learning how to get better at climbing or researching what my next trip will be.

It’s one of many things involved in fighting porn addiction. Cutting off the source like you have in mind is a great idea. But just remember you’ll need to fill the void vacated by porn with some good activities.

    Thanks for the reply!

I think once school starts I should be sufficiently busy that I don't even have time to think about PMO.

Do you think that would help?

  6. Well one thing about my college days was the level of stress. At times I would relieve that stress with PMO.

One thing I regret about college is I didn’t socialize more. I was working full time and had a full school load so it was work, school, study, PMO, sleep. Now if I had replaced that PMO with socializing I would be better off today.

So socialize with good people as much as you can.

Hope all goes well for you at school!
