I just woke up to another night of a racing heart and cold sweats. I have been dealing with this condition for about three weeks now. Overall my symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, lightheadedness, rapid heart rate, loose bowels and flu-like symptoms (in the early stages). I have been to a GP who has tested my blood and given me a ECG scan, all came back fine. Now I have been recommended to an cardiologist. This all started when I was in a period of intense PMO use and intermittent fasting. It was like I created the perfect storm of ill-health for myself. I stopped both after the symptoms became apparant but began again (just the PMO) after the symptoms subsided for about three days. These latest attacks were trigged by after a PMO session at the end of my three day binge.

During my diet I wasn't losing that much weight but after these episodes I saw that I lost ten pounds in what seemed a matter of days. I'm just trying to maintain a proper body condition now which is difficult given my loose bowels. I am just wondering if anyone has gone through this and what did they do to address it?

Isn’t it obvious? Your nervous system is completely out of wack due to PMO. I’ve had all of your mentioned symptoms but mine mostly happened due to withdrawal from PMO after abstaining. The effect is the same though. You’re throwing your body into a sort of shock every time you binge and as a result your nervous system is lashing out at you. The solution is to stop masturbating. If you continue to do PMO these symptoms will continue to reappear and it will be a never ending cycle. Stop the porn and stop the fapping. That is the only way you’ll return to normal.

Thank you for replying. I will definitely stop fapping or looking at any kind of explicit material. This is the most adverse side-effects I have ever experienced. Tired from barely getting any sleep yesterday.

When I would come off a pmo binge i would get panic attacks. This would include heart racing, shivers as if I was cold, blood pressure would go high and chest pressure. Then I started getting pins and needles feeling in my legs and arms. Mostly in legs. Like dagger said its definitely your nervous system.

I have had a treadmill stress test done for my chest pressure and pain. It came back good. I started taking b12 and magnesium supplements. They support the nervous system and tI has been helping me. Also stop the pmo and the symptoms will slowly get better.

So today the symptoms that I have been experiencing were slightly better. I actually got a decent night of sleep (7 hours) and my shortness of breath and nasal congestion have subsided somewhat. However, I notice that my nerves are terribly on edge and living in a tension filled house is no help. When I get stressed I am constantly checking my pulse and the negative thoughts and fears creep into my mind. In fact someone completely turned me into a nervous wrack for a period today by emailing me about what I might be going through, which doctor is good to check(and not) and the potential conditions I might have. Normally, I would be able to ignore this type of person but because it involves my health and I am seemingly hypersensitive the email threw me for a tail spin. I immediately felt vulnerable with my shortness of breath returning along with loose bowels. This was to a lesser extent than previous days but still present. Overall, the symptoms are getting better without PMO but they still linger in some sense. For example, though my heart is not racing as frequently, it still can get up to 100bpm without warning or if I am too active, active being just walking too briskly. Still, I made it through half the day in a semi-normal state and I hope tomorrow I will continue to show improvement in my condition.

I can attest to this. I went through the exact same thing. When I have long streaks and relapse I feel terrible and Anxiety is through the roof. Early on I had heart palpitations, night sweats, and couldn’t hardly get out of bed some days. It was so bad.

A while ago, the same thing happened to me. It was a panic attack. Back then, i used to PMO every day, but i was having anxiety issues due to university too. Also i had a lot of episodes of arrhythmia. I went to a cardiologist and all tests were fine. Now i'm in a healthy lifestyle, and stopped PMO too and all these problems practically disappeared. Exercise and diet helped me a lot, not only nofap. If you are still suffering from those symptons, you have to give time to your body to heal itself. With a proper diet, exercise and no PMO you will be better. I used to have a lot of health issues but now i'm doing better.

Edit: I never relapses because i noticed that my health improved a lot. This is my best reason to no PMO ever again (only O but never PM). I think my body will be a mess if i go back to PMO.

My urges are strong too, but i'm trying to stay busy and avoid any situation that lead me to realpse. Anyways, i was very bad, depressed, lot of health issues, going to several doctors all the time and when i found nofap it changed my life (with healthy lifestyle too) and when i'm having intense urges, i think of my miserable life that i had and then keeping on my journey and never PM ever again. I think if you have a strong reason that keeps you focused on nofap, then it is very difficult to relapse.

My heart rate and heart in general is in a better place now. Shortness of breath, lightheadedness and loose bowels symptoms have lessened in the past couple days. Thank God. I am eating better and going to sleep at a regular time.

However, my anxiety is still pretty bad and I have no way to control. For example, yesterday a person I should have gotten rid from my life months ago triggered a panic within my body and everything was thrown for a loop. This is not the first time this person as done this since this fragile period in my recovery and I finally had the guts to cut communication with them. Crazy thing about this reboot is that it forces you to do things that you should have been doing long ago. Today I'm still dealing with anxiety related issues as my body is shaking from my head down to my arms. Anyone ever experienced this shaking/tremors before? Sleep was really difficult last night, waking up every two hours. Also experienced muscle tightness over the last couple of days. All in all I am feeling better than the two weeks before. 85% of my normal self usually, today less so but I hope tomorrow will be better God willing.
