When you start over again, it is like going around in a circle.

You never reach the end. BTW your new name change is a step back from your old one, at least there was honesty in that name.

To me flawedChristian = Hopeful... You are acknowledging that something isn't quite right. With this acceptance results in positive change. HopefulChristian implies a rigid stance in your old belief system. This implies 0 change.

^^You know what I'm implying by this. I know this because you're smarter than your writings on here suggest.

  3. Agree to disagree on the new name, hon.
And yes as long as we are sinners, we will continually have to make amends with our Father. He is patient, kind, and slow to anger. He sees the efforts of our heart. I look forward to the day I get to join him in Heaven and finally live up to his perfect standards. Glory be to God!

Well for one, I don't believe you are sinner, no matter what your faith tells you! <-see I added an exclamation mark to emphasise my point like you ;)

  5. Going in circles implies no progress. Everyone one of us has made progress simply by coming here. To willingly not seek help is to be comfortable in our sins. But we're here because our hearts have been changed by the Holy Spirit. Let us find solace in that. Let us celebrate the reformed sinner!

  6. Well thank you. God deserves an exclamation point, don't you think? ;)

And what part of your life or existence do you consider to be sinful?

Expand on this for little old naive me?

  8. Yeah, I love myself. It's not very hard to do for me right now. I am thankful, because for most people it can be really hard to do.

I don't think the zen thing does resonate with me o_O. From what I understand, it is about shame, particularly a religious, person's shame. Not exactly sure how this connects to me in the context of this thread. I mean, I can assure you, I am not in denial that I am gay.

Oh no absolutely, why would you ASSUME I thought that?

  10. Yes I realised that that was a bit ironic after I posted it.
But really, I know who I am more than you :)

Sin... what is sin? Now that's a very good question.

So when something appears not to be working we look to finding solutions.

    Yes isn't this the norm?

My car isn't working, the solution is I need to get a new engine? Pretty obvious right? WRONG.

Let me tell you a little story.
Ever heard of the car manufacturer Toyota and why they're considered leagues above their nearest competitors. It isn't because they go out looking for solutions. In fact they do the exact opposite. They keep asking the 'Whys' until the problem they were looking to solve ...gets resolved.

And Toyota was the pioneer for this type of problem solving: When faced with a problem. They do not ask "why" once. They CONTINUE to ask the why's" until there are no more why's to ask. Usually, this leads to a simple solution rather than a multi-faceted mess.

At the moment, many of you who have contributed in this thread have answered your problems/issues with a solution.

I am a sinner, therefore I must solve this! Praise be to Jeebus! And this is what I've been taught! Nooooooooo. Keep asking 'why,' why am I solving this?

Do this and your answer will become all too apparent.

    Indeed :)

Dang. Late to the party but @tweeby, you have some serious passive aggression coming out here.

To sin is to act outside of God's will. Easy. It has nothing to do with secular morality, except that which was derived from the Bible to begin with. To a Christian, you act outside of God's will, you sin, it's that simple.

And we all sin! Thank you for some consistency about judgment @HopefulChristian. God wants us to confess and ask for forgiveness. Being a "good Christian" has less to do with fixing your problems and more to do with humbling yourself and submitting to God's will.

Tweeby, I'm sorry, your logic doesn't really have much continuity. You say that finding solutions is not the solutions, but instead we should continuously ask questions like Toyota? Who made a car company the pace setter of philosophy? I'm afraid when it boils down to it, Toyota has found many solutions for its own problems like every other successful corporation. That's just how the world works.

Sometimes we lose sight of simple truths when searching for deeper meaning. The world can be as simple as a few words in just a few words.

Faith, hope, and most importantly, love.

As always @Rubidium, many prayers for you buddy.

  13. Why thank you. I had to get past some misconceptions about Christianity before I
could renew my faith. Now that I understand how truly simple it can be and how loving our Father is, I think it's important to get the right message across. I'm not perfect but with the Holy Spirit in me, I know what I say has the semblance of truth, amen. Have a most wonderful day/night :)

there is conflicting evidence of that.

Some people also say you can be born without a gender. You are "gender fluid" and can choose your gender at any given moment.

Search for milo yiannapoulis. Hes gay and even he says its a combination, you aren't necessarily born "gay".

Wow I just wanted to say thank you for correcting me. It's difficult to summarise God's message as only He Himself can do so. But that was spot on. In my Christian Diocese, we have a saying that goes... 'Don't hate the sinner, hate the sin.'

And this message is brought about through love and the love we have with our Father.

We have all been touched by a true disciple of the Lord.

  18. Hello again. I'm afraid I have to disagree again. As long as you have the Holy Spirit, the Word of God from God will be easier to understand the more you study it. God intentionally made the Word accesible for believers -- no guesswork or doubt required, amen!

As confusing as it is to understand your intentions here, you aren't wrong. Love the sinner, hate the sin. And love prevails over all!

I didn't realize that the Toyota thing was considered God's message though. Maybe you could enlighten us.
