Has anyone tried disconnecting from the internet when in reboot?

Hi guys, first post here. I want to break the PMO cycle after 15 years or so - blimey.

I registered because i saw what a poster say in his success story about how we first felt our sexuality, and how magical that feeling was. I can completely identify with that. The scary thing is one of my first memories of first feeling sexual was watching soft porn in a hotel I was staying at on a school trip.

So, it's almost like I don't have a reference to a non-porn first sexual 'wow' feeling. Well, that's not entirely true. Losing my virginity, getting intimate with a girl for the first time, that was all amazing. But porn has always been there. Now, at age 29 - more or less 30 for arguments sake - I feel much flatter when it comes to sex. I have been habitually watching porn for a long time now, and yes, I still want and crave sex, but the actual excitement has been flattened, which of course has been down to porn. Its my aspiration to rediscover that teenage sense of sexuality - the excitement that comes with it. I want to experience that again in real life, and be more turned on by women in day to day encounters.

I decided to post in this thread as I am really interested in the concept of reducing internet. I think there is definitely a correlation between excessive internet use and porn use. I look at how much of the time I spend 'surfing' which I see as a form of disconnection and escapism from the real world to an extent. I know if I could limit my usage down to say - three hours on a Sunday - or 30 minutes a day, it would be good to have more of a balance. As one poster mentioned above, I think there are benefits to no longer consuming dark news stories everyday.

I am also interested in the idea of downgrading my phone - but with one caveat. It would be useful to still have whatsapp, if possible. Does anyone know of a basic phone that can use whatsapp but is limited? The other idea was to have a basic phone when I'm out with everyone's numbers, and then keep my smartphone at home, so I can use whatsapp once a day for a limited period of time. So definitely some options to consider.

I respectfully disagree. I think strengthening yourself in one area, i.e. using mental energy to resist binging on food or consuming alcohol or mindlessly surfing the internet, whatever increases your capacity to resist another vice like pornography. There have been times in my own life that I've said what the hell about surfing the internet for hours and it lead me in the direction of "what the hell" when it came to looking at pornography and tapping.

What I did was have my iPhone remove the web browser, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook app, etc. I only kept the apps I wanted which were the Google Maps app and my email. A friend has the restrictions password on it so I don't have the ability to add new apps.

Ok. I understand your point of view. There is no point in quarrelling because of it.
