Getting Real

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Mar 22, 2018.

  1. I just deleted all my porn and erased it from the recycle bin, and the cloud. Years and years of images, links, and movies. It now only exists in my past and the Google, Microsoft, and Amazon (etc) secret archives.

Damn, now that I think of it a museum might have paid good money for some of it.

    It’s done now.

I'll try not to pretend I have anything wise to say on the main theme here until I have racked up a decent number of days on my badge.

You don't have to say anything wise. Your actions are very wise. I'm sure that was a difficult thing to delete, but you will ever be better for it. Great job!

  3. Thanks, Reverent. I thought I'd feel a nostalgic twinge, but no. I feel relief more than anything. How about that.

I rarely re-visited them anyway, which supports some of the material I'm reading about addiction which says that the demon is always looking for "new". Interesting, and something I have to be mindful of.

Good for you. I just recently did the same thing and it was a great relief. I've tried to quit in the past, but never got serious. Best of luck and stay strong!

  6. Congrats.

Back when I watched porn (all of 2 weeks ago LOL) I came across one of the videos that I first ever watched as a kid when I started getting into it.

When I first seen it, as a kid it was my favourite video ever... I remember having it saved in my bookmarks... I couldn't get enough of it, the girl was amazing... everything about it was amazing.

Guess what? When I seen it this time around I thought EWW how could I have ever have liked that. She's ugly... It's so boring...

As you say, it's crazy how addiction pushes you into seeking for all the new content...

And it just comes to show (from my experience) how it really warps your view...

Best of luck on your journey :)

Now you are on your way to begin your journey. The journey would not be easy my friend beware the urge is strong and it will stand in your way but with great self control and discipline you can achieve your goal.

You are not wise now but in the future you will be and you will be able to share your wisdom to others in need of guidance.

Outstanding action :) It's an averse situation to get oneself in because of the affection we've come to feel towards those pixel scenes (repeat that slowly), but in the end it's worth it. Try to see them as pebbles in a bag that was too heavy for you to carry. Now you're relieved, and should start stretching your back to its full extent again, and slowly taking longer and longer strides will feel easier as time passes.

Wisdom you shall acquire, and I tell you right away : it's not in the victory you will find most of it. But in the bumps in the road, the mistakes. When you find yourself on your knees and have to get yourself up again. That's when you will find the means to your wisdom.

All the best to you, you can do this !
