    Hey!

So for the more financially self directed crowd that may work from their home, did you ever find yourself able to come back to working on your home office after a 90 day or beyond reboot?

I'm about 21 days deep in the reboot and I see how much my home office is a DANGER ZONE. Internet, challenging tasks, noone around. The thing is I have specialized equipment and will need to sit down and work in here at some point. It's not realistic to go to a cafe every day forever.

So here's my question: Has anyone been able to return to their home office and work consistently without an intense battle from urges?

I'd love to hear some success stories because I'm finding it so impossible during my reboot, I really hope there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I so much recognize your situation. I'm self-employed as well. Have my own, spacious, beautiful office at my home. Most of the time on my own as well. With all the necessary equipment and books close to me. And with all the liberty of surfing to porn...
I try to change the layout of my office to make it more 'dangerous' to PMO (if someone would come in, they would see me, which was not the case in the former layout setting). But it's not the best solution. I'm convinced that a new environment would make a great difference in rebooting and fighting the urges... So I'm also struggling with this aspect... keep me posted if you found a workaround buddy... Or anybody, any suggestions?

I actually asked a similar (but more convoluted) question here the other day, wondering the same thing. I do have an (employer-based) office but I still work from home sometimes, and it's a constant battle when I do. I struggled in a previous job when I was 100% remote as well.

I waffle between trying to come up with new routines, plans, systems for getting work from home under control, and feeling like I should just throw my hands up and try my hardest never to work from home again.

So, no success story from me - but I feel ya.

  5. I'm relate to much with yours stories guys. I'm a developer working in home and I'd been fallen many time in my intents of be clean of PMO . I'm thinking right know in work on places where people can see me every time like living rooms, libraries coffees shops, etc. Also, I've thought on sell my iPad, because is one of my objects that I've used more to watch porn. I know that this is not the best solution. But, Sometimes I can control myself when urges are quite strong.

I heard of a person that had installed a kind of 'software-alarm'- whenever he surfed to porn, one or more trusted people got a message and they called/texted him immediately on the phone.
Don't know more about the specifics, but for me, that would be a huge barrier to surf to porn....
If anyone knows of such an add-on or blocker-software, please post this here;..

    Thanks.

I'm typing this message from the computer, desk, chair, and room I've spent 21 years watching internet porn (not exactly the same, but still, same broad setting). And I am not afraid because I know I am not going to watch porn again. And I know this because I absolutely do not want to waste any additional second of my life on that, not to mention all other negative side effects that go with it.

Let's do some math... I have spent:

    In full 24 hour days:
    2 hours per day x 365 x 21 = 15330 hours = 638,75 days = 1,75 years on porn.

But it's worse because you're only awake for about 16 hours per day, so that means:
958 waking days or 2,6 waking years.

But to make it even more realistic: let's categorize watching porn as a bad job that you do for 8 hours a day. That makes:
1916 working days or 8,7 working years (assuming 220 work days per year).

I have these numbers hanging here, and when I enter this room, I take a look at them and take a minute to let them sink in. And then I know: I will not add a second of porn to those.

If you run a business, make your own calculation and put dollars or euros on it...

    :)
