For how long you're journey already took?

I would like to know what your overall experiences with your rebooting journey are, not the length of the streak you're currently in but your whole journey, like from the day you first heard of NoFap or the first time you tried to get a streak until now.

When did you have your first successes? I would like to know that because I hear very differenting stories from people who tried to abstain for five years but couldn't make it over 5 days and people who got their 90 day reboot easily after a few tries.

I first heard about negative effects of porn last year in february or march or so and tried my first streak in june, so I could say I'm almost trying it for a year now and this is the third time I'm getting around 30 days but not as many benefits as on my first two streaks to be honest.

What are your experiences? Let's talk a little bit here :D

I've had problem with compulsive MB and later PMO around 17 years. I started to be serious about it 8 years ago when I came across dr. Carnes's book Don't call it love talking about sexual addiction. I could identify with characters in the book. I had one 84 days and one plus 3 months streak soon after reading it (I atribute those two abstentions to falling into depression because of two family deaths which suck out my will to continue with binge PMOing). Lots of tries and relapses followed till today.

I heard of nofap about 2 years ago, had tried to abstain from porn before, but never took it too serious. When I found out about nofap I tried getting on a streak a few times, but after a while, and some unsuccessfull attempts, I kinda forgot about it and continued with my unhealthy lifestyle.
Over time my habits and my life got worse, and I finally realized how big of a problem I have on january this year. I made a nofap account here, and started writing my journal every day for a while. While I still havent gotten any impressive streaks, the journal helped me identify a lot of things that go wrong in my life. Right now I am finally starting to get my act together. I still think I have a long way to go, and it will probably take a lot more time until I reach my goals, but within the last 4 month, I did more personal growth than over the last 4 years.
