    Hi everyone,
Thanks for the contribution to the post. I really enjoy reading what others have to say. Especially the stuff @wethebest and @Kenzi brought up about amateur content. It tends to slip from our minds that our normal habits may be closing in on into stuff that is pretty much illegal and unjust.

I guess that my aim with this post was to see how others work through questions of ethics concerning porn use. Personally, I find myself on the camp that sees porn as an unnecessary and destructive issue (compared to those who only see dependency, or compulsive use as an issue). Bringing up these issues and reading what others added strengthens my conviction that there is no normal/healthy place for porn.

I also read this account of a producer who understood how easy to manipulate newcomers are. It leaves with a strange feeling that everyone, including those who may see porn in a positive light, can acknowledge the injustice done. Here’s the link [*MAY TRIGGER*] https://fightthenewdrug.org/mindys-story/, not a pretty story and doesn’t have a happy ending.

I think the idea of ethics in porn is rather laughable, and here is my reasons why.

If there is a market for it, the pornographers will make it. And I'm sure if there was no legality involved, then there would be a production market for it.
Sometimes even when there is a legal precedent that gets ignored as well. Hence the reason that bestiality porn exist, child pornography exist. No one could make an argument that these are ethical, and in the greater majority of the public it is viewed as the opposite, however it still exists.

There are several examples I could cite outside of age that are markets that have developed over time, and you can see the evolution of this over the periods of pornography. Like popular music, trends exist that come to dominate the market.

As for the age difference, I think that is just a biological factor. As a majority men will find women who exhibit the most fertility appealing, and for women this period is essentially from 16 to 25, legality aside. Since 18 is the legal benchmark that has been set, that is what most pornographers will aim for since women at that age are usually not well established in life, and therefore easier targets to be brought into pornography. The industry churns out thousands of women each year, and as you said the average career span is six to nine months, and from the view of a pornographer, it is a never ending crop of new faces that will replace the old ones with each passing year.
