Embrace Change, don't battle it

My name is Sean, 22 years old. I have been a Masturbation addict since March 2006. Every since late 2011, I've been trying to overcome my masturbation addiction. I tried my best to overcome it in 2012 and 2013, but it was unsuccessful. I have been jerking less for the past 2 years, which shows I have been trying. I stopped masturbating for about 2 weeks, which has been my best record. I'm was a shy person since day one, and last year I made a commitment to break it.

I have done a good job overcoming my shyness. Constantly going out and talking to employees was a great start. Back then, I hated life, had this dark cloud hovering over my head. I hated crowds, hated running into people, until I used my anxiety and fear as an ally to push myself, so I can become a better person. Also, I got a tattoo on my right forearm that says "I'm committed to growth", so I have that constant seek out discomfort and grow, and it helps out at time. Sometimes, I forget I have it, but its always there.

In 2013, I think I found the solution to overcome my masturbation, porn and my social anxiety, etc, it is no more than a elastic band. All I do, is put on my wrist, and anytime you get that craving for porn, masturbation, or anxiety, pull the elastic band back and let it go. It will sting a little, but it gives you that message to stop what your doing. Its working great.
