This idea I got from I book I was reading today (that has nothing to do with NoFap but made the connection) is if you keep resisting, it's like attracting whatever you're trying to avoid. Instead, acknowledge it but just turn away from it to something else. Look directly at whatever is causing the problems (not literally in our case :) but in our heads maybe) and just tell yourself you have no use for it anymore and set it aside. Then put your focus on what you do have use for (maybe your goals or maybe even better, something that is more healthy and positive at the very moment like talking to a friend, nature or music). I'm still messing with it but I think it might be something that could help. Thoughts?

I totally agree! I had a huge urge today and this is what I wrote in my journal.

I took a deep breath and said I feel these urges because I am human. I need to feel this struggle because life would be too easy and we wouldn't have room to grow. If I feel this pain then it means I am normal and I will be able to feel pleasure after the pain. So I am prepared to embrace this uncomfortable feeling. I took a few deep breaths and then I stepped into the cold shower. It was tough but I did it.
After that moment I felt confident and powerful!
So for all you people struggling, embrace the urges and the discomfort!

It sounds a lot like what you wrote so I though I would share!

Yeah, this is the sort of thing I've encountered the past couple of days. The other analogy I've used is having a cold - you can drink the fluids, eat soup, take meds and sleep but that can only do so much and really all you can do is let it run its course. Of course, you can make it worse by not listening to your body or you can make it relatively better by doing the things I mentioned. Yet, there is going to be some time where you just have to sit there and take it. But…you just get through it by looking ahead and remaining positive even when you feel kind of messed up.
