Did excessive Porn use trigger Social Anxiety?

I think there is a link between SA and porn addiction but I couldn't say for sure that it is porn that triggers it. It no doubt makes it a lot worse if you're already struggling but I don't think all porn addicts could say they have it? I think what age you started watching could play an important role. For me, I was only just starting secondary school so it no doubt influenced my development during my adolescent years. But then I remember even before any of that I was pretty shy and introverted.

Then if you look at it from a different angle, SA maybe makes you more predisposed to accessing porn because you probably spend most your time in seclusion doing things like surfing the web...it's a vicious cycle.

 

PMO definitely made me feel like an inferior person. I was afraid to let girls get too close to me because I didn't want them to find out about my PMO addiction.

It also made me a lot more judgmental when it came to talking to women who didn't look like porn stars. I wanted a girlfriend who looked like a porn star, and unfortunately, that cost me and whatever ladies I was talking to a lot of grief in the long run because I never found myself being totally attracted to them, and I was ashamed of them finding out about my addiction.

That's why I'm here because I want to go cold turkey on this and start a new path free from my shame and PMO dependence.
