Cutting porn out 3 days at a time

    I deleted an old thread and decided to make a new one which is more relevant.

    I'm here to cut out porn and obsessing over strange fetishes from my life. Up until recently I was masturbating probably around 15 times a week I would estimate, usually at least twice a day.

    Like many people my taste over the years had turned from regular porn to only really looking at specific fetish stuff that wasn't me at all (interracial, crossdressing, sissy, humiliation etc)

    My goal is to cut out hardcore porn and overcome the strange fetishes I have developed due to prolonged porn use. I want to cut masturbation down to a healthy amount, around 1 or 2 times a week.

    Here is my technique so far to wean myself off it:

    1. Install K9 web protection
    2. Install DnsAngel
    3. Block any other websites using the hosts file (I had to block twitter since it's full of hardcore porn)
    4. Install Free Countdown Timer (A desktop PMO counter)

    My rules:

    1. Don't look at or seek out any hardcore pornography or fetish stuff. EVER.
    2. Do not fantasize about non-vanilla images or strange fetishes.
    3. Limit fapping to once every 3 days using the PMO counter to help track this.

    Results so far:

    I've only been doing this for a week but it's worked better than I could ever imagine. Here's what I've discovered so far:

    1. Not watching porn/fetish stuff was easier than I thought after the first 2 days.
    2. The urge to masturbate is still very strong. The 3 days is always quite difficult.
    3. The strange fetishes are subsiding rapidly. I didn't expect this so quickly.
    4. When I do masturbate my erection is rock solid and it feels fantastic despite just looking at a static image of a fully clothed woman. When I was masturbating constantly to hardcore porn my erections were weak with a very disappointing orgasm.

    Here are some negatives:

    1. Constantly horny. I find my self staring at women far too much. Not good.
    2. Aggressive. Probably due to frustration but I've had bouts of aggressiveness.
    3. Constantly thinking about not being in a relationship. Far more than when I was masturbating constantly.
    4. Frustration increased.

    I'm hoping these negatives will subside over the next few weeks. Going from 15 faps to 2 a week is a big change for my body/mind.

    I'm calling this the 3x3 method. For those who want to cut out porn and cut down masturbation!

    My opinions and thoughts on NoFap:

    1. Masturbation isn't a sin and is healthy.
    2. Everything in moderation. Too much masturbation is unhealthy.
    3. On the flip side of this, forcing yourself to never masturbate again is unhealthy also.
    3. I don't believe porn is all bad. Unfortunately I've used it in such a way that is negative.
    4. I don't believe in a lot of the delusion many NoFappers have regarding 'super powers'.

    I think of porn like alcohol. In moderation it's great but over-use can have very bad consequences. I drink alcohol usually once a week with friends. Some people drink every day of the week, alone and it destroys them. In order to recover they must never drink again. They have a few beers now and then to begin with and before you know it they are back in the hole.

    A lot of people view porn and fap a few times a week. I was using porn 15-20 times a week constantly and it was having a negative impact. In order to recover I probably can't view porn ever again. Like the alcoholic it would start with a few vanilla vids and then before you know it I'm back watching intense fetish porn for hours a day.

    We're so similar, you and me. I totally agree with everything, especially that PMO isn't the devil's work. Overuse is.
