    Hi there Fapstronauts and Femstronauts.

Just as the title said: Do folks really enjoying the taste their alcoholic drinks or just want to get drunk? I drank some previously (only with my friends and occasionally I got some from relatives), but the taste was not pleasant to me ( Honestly, I prefer fruit juice or milkshake more). So I wonder why people want to drink it so bad? I got drunk once but that was one of the worst experience I had. Waking up with headache and puke and foul smell around me didn't made me feel any good. Please comment your thoughts on it.

  2. I drink alcohol mostly for taste; whine, whiskey, rum, etc. I don't usually drink those at parties tho. I hate the taste of beer too. I usually order cider instead. I used to just drink cos everyone else drinks. That's just something we are programmed to do when having fun with friends, party, club, etc. Now I stopped doing that cos I figured it makes no sense. Now I just have a glass of water or juice. Not because I hate taste of alcohol, I like most of them, but because I don't want to get drunk. I'm lucky I never have had drunk in my life and not planning to either. I just don't see the appeal of it.

  3. Such a good question.

A crisp pint of beer can be very refreshing. I like how I feel after a pint or two, I'm usually on good form.

But then, out with friends, in this drinking culture we have in the UK, I'll be drinking to excess, we're talking multiple pints and shots. Why.. to fit in, to not be a stuck in the mud, to feel belonging, and to numb myself from everything. Result: I'm useless for 3 days after and depressed.

Yea, I drink to get flat drunk wasted. Or I'll have a couple shots to forget how much I suck.

Unfortunately i got a ticket for drinking. Unfortunately you can go to war and die for this piece of shit country yet you can't get drunk before 21.
Unfortunately the government would rather you smoke cigarettes and die of cancer than have weed legal or other drugs legal that are less harmful.
Unfortunately we live in a bullshit money only reason for laws fucked up world.
Unfortunately we have pornography shoved in our faces 24/7 and get limp dick social anxiety so they make us take x-nax for anxiety we get hooked they get money blah blah fucking blah.

Fuck this piece of shit planet and it's fucked up governments fuck the cops fuck the law.

Answer to your question depends on circumstances and amount of booze you drink. I really enjoy drinking GOOD wine to the lunch, drinking pint of beer when I am thirsty after hard physical work, or can of cider with popcorn when watching a movie.

However there is a difference drinking 1 pint of beer for taste than drinking 6-7 pints to get drank. Similar analogy might be eating a chocolate. You might really enjoy eating half bar of chocolate. But if you are going to eat 5 whole chocolates you very probably not going to enjoy them as much as that first half bar.
But with spirits (vodka, rum, absinth, etc) the situation is different. I do not particularly enjoy drinking them therefore I try to cover the taste so I do not realize that I drink them with juice, coctail and so on and I drink them mostly for their effects.

The reason why people want/don't want to drink so much is associations they created with the drinking.
For example I have association that when I drink with friends, we have better time, we do the things we would not normally do leading to the better memories and experiences. Therefore I prefer to drink with friends when I have opportunity. Also after quite lot of experience I have learnt my boundaries so I know how much can I drink to be in great mood and do not end up puking, what I can mix with what so I will not have hangover or headache next day. All this things contribute to that preference go for a drink.

However if somebody have associated alcohol only with bad memories and terrible experiences with heavy after effects, then obviously they won't go for it and even might be totally put off by the alcohol.

i personally enjoy some types of alcohol for the taste. i like sweet wines, rum, bailey's, and certain types of whiskey for the taste. i'll also drink a hard cider or two if i'm just hanging around with friends and not wanting to get too crazy with alcohol. however, at a party, i will take shots, drink mixed drinks, and end up getting a bit more tipsy than i originally planned because i enjoy the buzz around other people. what can i say? i'm a bit of a social drinker.

i don't like to get blackout drunk very often -- in fact, i'd avoid it at all costs if i remembered my limits more often. if i get too drunk one night, it takes me all day the next day to recuperate and get back to a normal state of mind.

i've started realizing that there are certain friends i've had to stop drinking as much around so we can form a bond outside of alcohol. it's hard to be real friends if all you do together is drink to the point where your thought process is altered.

I asked my mother this question out of this curiosity, too. Getting drunk doesn't really do anything for you, she told me.. you feel like you're out of control, and you just act goofy. She told me, it is NOT like synthetic happiness. It should amplifies what you are feeling right now, and it really isn't something that you should use for "escapism". It just amplifies the depression you already have. Plus, you get a hangover and feel sick the next day. She told me, it is not worth it. There's no reason to do it. All it does, it fucks up your health, and you don't get anything out of it.

  8. Of course that's what she will tell you. You are 15 and she's your mother. Besides, it might be true for her but generally speaking alcohol (and drugs in general) does not always work the same for everybody. Ya never know for sure until you try. Come on boy... for science. :p

I guess. But, I pretty much know everything about every drugs, anyways. I don't really want to try alcohol anyway, she told me I could go for it when I'm legal 21.

  10. Oh come on boy, try it now... for science! :D

Two reasons to drink it - It taste good and as an added benefit it feels good. That's why I love it and I must be careful not to become addicted to it.

I consider myself an alcoholic person..
But, I don't like the taste. I like getting drunk, my bond to friends become stronger.
Alcohol gives us confidence making the conversion deeper.

  15. Totally hate alcohol, lol, like you buzz nice after the first 2 or 3 drinks for a half hour or so then it's all downhill and anymore then 4 drinks is pretty much binge drinking....

30 minutes of feeling warm and fuzzy? No thanks.

I'm a pornographic alcoholic drug addict. It's never just 2 or 3 drinks lol. And it always results in getting cannabis or a harder drug because alcohol sucks for recreational effects.

I only drink when I'm with friends or on dates so I genuinely enjoy it. Everybody acts like alcohol hijacks your body but it really doesn't. It does kind of turn you into a space case though, which is why you can't drive while drunk
