I believe that one of the key elements of going porn free is creating a life mission statement, which is very similar to creating a "why statement." Why do you get out of bed in the morning? Is it merely because you have to? Or is it rather because you want to? Those present two different categories of people in life.

One category presents those in life who have a life mission statement. They are purposeful in their living, and happily choose to get out of bed every morning because they are focused on becoming the charactered person they need to be, in order to live the dream life that they want.

On the other side of the categorical aisle are those who wake up in the morning, hit the snooze button, eventually, drag themselves out of bed, and choose to go about their day and lives because they "have to". This is a different state of living altogether. They lack vision (no mission/vision statement), and therefore meander their way through life without focusing their energy on becoming a better person, and therefore lack successful living. (can't abstain porn)

This first statement is my "why" statement as it pertains to going porn free; "I am moving on from having a confused mind, and choosing to be a lucid and critical thinker."

This second statement is my life mission statement; "To use my gifts of intelligence, writing, speaking, and creativity to create my best life and influence others to do the same."

  2. Well said. By quitting PMO we are gaining power and can use it to live purposefully and meaningfully - this way of living give us power and its a circle where there finally is no place for PMO. I was waking up and living like a chore for more than 20 years and while this still is a chore for me a little bit I'm now having some flashbacks of life better than this one I'm living now, thanks to power that is not wasted anymore on PMO and can be directed to living my life. I was looking for masculine power unconsciously for years and for last 2 years I was consciuosly seeking it inside of me with no results. Luckily I realised that the closest things are sometimes the hardest one to recognize, by meeting NoFAP community I started to receiving back myself. Since I realised that I have power to live my life I'm closer to choose goals in my life.

I believe that committing to some greater cause in our life is necessary to live life to the fullest ( it can be family voluntering, helping others in general, or for some spiritual causes). Because we were not born to just work pay bills and die. In those fulfilled and committted life there's no place for addictions even if there are bad days. I do believe in that and I will prove it by myself and my life.
