Confusion about prostatitis/enlarged prostate/blood in prostate

Hey everybody,

I'm doing no PM for several months now and was able to have great sex several times, but erection quality still fluctuates alot which is confusing and frustating sometimes.

A few days ago, when I ejaculated during petting with a girl, I noticed a pink color in my semen, obviously blood from the prostate or testicles. I ejaculated two times afterwards and still had drops of blood in my semen. Several days later when I ejaculated, the blood was gone. I did some research and it turned out that blood in the prostate does not always point to a medical condition. Most of the time, no reason is found and the problem goes away fast. Really rarely it's a sign of cancer. But the most common reason is an enlarged prostate or prostatitis.

Because of this incident, several questions came up in my mind:
- Could it be that porn addiction and over-masturbation have caused my prostate to enlarge to a point where it disturbs my erection quality? Is an enlarged prostate actually the reason for my ED?
- If this is the case - how do I get my prostate to shrink to normal size again?
- Why do people even talk about enlarged prostates and prostatitis in the same sentence? Aren't those two totally different conditions?
- Also it seems that many fapstronauts experience prostatitis after a long streak of abstinence - how can this even be? Isn'T prostatitis caused by bacteria? Bacteria wouldn't just appear out of nowhere inside your prostate because you abstained from orgasm.

Would somebody please answer those questions for me? Thank you very much!

By the way: The counter in my signature only shows a few days because I had to masturbate (without porn) in order to find out if I still had blood in my semen. As a considerate fapstronaut, I decided to set back the day timer accordingly.

Why aren't you getting your prostatitis treated? Is there even a treatment?

So what is the problem with prostatitis then if it doesn't cause ED?

 

That's a really helpful answer. It shows me that I don't actually have prostatitis, because I the only felt pain down there twice and both times have been really far apart and a long time ago. I'm sorry that you suffer this condition and I hope you'll recover fast!

Additionally, from your explanations it seems like me having an enlarged prostate is rather unlikely, do I get this right? Either way, it shouldn't be the main reason for the fluctuation of my erection quality.
