Cold showers for 3 months results

  1. So taking cold showers has been the only option for a while now. I noticed when I started how colors became brighter, it was awesome! Cold showers made me feel strong and confident so I kept going with them. I also notice when being outside with my friends how they sometimes think it's really cold and I don't even notice it. Not getting cold easily is really great!

    A week ago I swimmed alot in a lake while my friends played voleyball. The water temperature was about 14 degres (57 fahrenheit). And I felt I never got to cold to get up from the water. I've never enjoyed the cold like that before. I was the only one who even swimmed among my friends. I have a feeling swimming this summer is going to be awesome, never getting to cold to get up! And I'm really skinny! Cold showers kicks ass, here is how I got started with them:

    Just done day 3. Today seemed the hardest. Took ages to acclimatize. Hope it gets a bit easier in time.

  3. I'm used to cold showers now. Yeah, I'm not going back to hot showers. Cold showere make me feel better.
     
  4. Yes it does get easier, an advice is to try to see the cold as something positive. Like you see warmth.

    he'll yeah I'm glad your into whim hoff, his stuff is great. I just wish it weren't so hot where I live cause my "cold showers" are probably lukewarm at best lmao. keep it up man

    I think there's something to this cold shower thing. I did it years ago, then forgot about it. After seeing it again on this forum, I've been doing it for the past few days - and I enjoy it.

    Andrew Carnegie said "Capitalism is turning luxuries into necessities." I think another way to look at it is human nature quickly grows bored of luxuries and wants more more more.

    I say reverse engineer the process and turn the frivilous things we consider necessities into luxuries. It's so much more satisfying being happy with what you got than looking for more things to make you happy.

  9. I've also started cold showers, although it was a mere willpower exercise for me at first. I had no idea there were all these other potential benefits

    I actually feel like it engages my mind with control and decision making every time. Cold showers and intermittent fasting have been doing it for me. I was about to watch a movie with a friend when he offered me some popcorn - instinctively I said "Sorry, I'm outside of my window, it's past 8pm", I didn't even glance at my watch, but I knew I was out an hour and a half too late. A few weeks ago I may have said: "Yeeahh, sure, why not.." and thought it was worth it. Same goes for the decision to turn the knob into the cold side - I know it is going to feel a little uncomfortable, but I know I'll survive.

    My way to approach cold showers is to start with a hot stream and do some of the washing, but then turn it into cold and engage with the experience, control my breathing, receive the impact of uncomfortable cold and react just as I react to any sexual stimuli ("It's only a false alarm, I'm not going to die if I don't give into the nice warm water/porn binge/masturbation"). It wakes me up pretty well and feels great.

    It's summer time here and I tend to get hotter than most. Now I just long for cold showers. They get easier as time goes on.

  15. When taking cold showers, your body uses energy to stay warm. First it uses the carbs you just ate, and then if you stay in for really long it burns fat as well so in that way it's sort of a workout. More oxygen in your blood also helps to stay warm so that's why you breathe more. You should try to take long deep breaths instead of regular shallow ones, it makes you more confortable in the cold.
     
  16. Cold showers are good, but i never feel clean. Like even after the shower the sweatiness is still there :/
    Thats why i dont usually go for them

    maybe use shower gel? :D

    i do cold showers now for almost a week and i can say i kind of don´t fear them anymore. i like them, it wakes me up. even if i only slept 6 hours i can get woken up with cold showers and don´t need coffee.

    I do cold showers every morning since 3 weeks. I love the effects. I am even lowering the temperature of the "usually" hot evening showers because i dont like hot showers anymore. Better sleep with low temperature shower in the evening.

    Since i know James Bond used to take cold showers... just think a moment about James Bond... nothing more to say about it ;-)
