I have been reseting my counter for the last three days . I have MO'D 8 times during these days .

    Chaser effect .

I have strong sexual urges or desire to masturbate in the days immediately after orgasm. It's very strong. If I fap with in hours strong sexual urges for MO are creating inside me . The problem is that this state of sexual arousal causes brain fog, and the capacity to be rational decreases. Rationalizations and excuses happen in this state that lead to relapse.brain will start to look for other ways to O, and the only way to do it is MO.

I never PMOD . I'm really glad for that :)

I had also witnessed the full power of the chaser effect:( . Holy shit it's terrible . I'm still have sexua urges, I want to prevent it from happening in the future.

How to cope with chaser effect ?

Seeking suggestions from all FAPSTRONUTS ?

  2. Hey there, GLL,

    The only answer is:

    DON'T DO IT!

It is a choice. But it's a tough choice for an addict.

You need to find some way to stop the autopilot process we get into where we just go from urge to action. If you can give your rational brain a chance to get in there you'll win the battle to follow through with your decision not to M.

So, what are the specifics of your relapses? What's the process? Where are you? What are you doing? Is there a trigger (a sexual stimulus of some sort or a negative - boredom, stress, etc... - that you're trying to avoid)?

Avoid the fuck out of these situations, at least while you get started. Or if you can't completely avoid them change something - break the cycle somehow.

Have a look at this video, I found the advice about "safety behaviours" useful (his other stuff is good too, I think):

Keep busy and keep positive. Are you building a positive alternative? Meditation's good, it's very easy to get started and you'll begin to learn to observe your thoughts rather than allowing them to dictate to you.

    Have you tried urge surfing?

This is a good guide: http://www.mindfulness.org.au/urge-surfing-relapse-prevention/

And this audio has helped me out a few times:

Well done on not using porn, that's fantastic!

Hope it all goes well for you, GLL! :)

  3. And apologies if I sounded like a know-it-all lecturing twat up there! It's all well meant! I'm by no means an expert, but I've found that reading about the science of this (at Your Brain on Porn largely), and the Sacred Sexuality and Your Brain Rewired (Gabe Deem) and Noah Church videos have been very useful when I'm struggling.

What's that famous post? "Get educated, get prepared and learn to love withdrawals" or something like that! That's good if you can track it down.

    You can do it, friend!

maybe think of the strong urge as the day of exam. now how you are before the exam day has a huge impact on the exam. its not like you can study in one day and get all the marks.

similarly for a strong will power and healthy thoughts, one must try to improve the mental health overall. theres a video on youtube by mark freeman about mental health and physical health

it has good analogy. hope that helps. that cleared quite a few things for me.

  10. Hi GLL,

No, it's just from that link - I'm sure you'd be able to find something similar if that's what you're after. There are good guided meditations on YouTube. I think you can download that audio and have it on your phone or MP3 player to play whenever you need it.

Your signature scares the hell out of me, man!

    Cheers.
