    Hey people!

I'm UDK from Turkey, Istanbul. The reason I ended up joining the NoFap - Team is to challenge myself. Even though I dont see the negative effects of masturbating clearly in my life, I do think that masturbating and watching porn causes physical and mental tiredness( I used to fap 1-2 times a week). So to get rid of that side effects, improve my life quality and just to see if I can, I decided to stop masturbating.

On the other hand I still have questions like; Is masturbating some kind of necessity (without porn) if you dont get laid on a regular basis. I mean at the times I've stopped fapping for a week or two, I've started to realize I was walking with straight boner all the time and waking up at night with a jizzed boxers. Can anyone tell me, except having psychological side effects, can one masturbate 1-2 times a month without dirty porn ( maybe pictures that contains nudity or softcore porn).

That's my only concern about my Reboot. Im willing to listen your advises or questions from you guys. Thank you!

    Welcome! I'm glad you're here.

My answer is that no, masturbation is in no way a "necessity." The proof of that is that people go along in life, without masturbating, and they don't get sick, they don't suffer from it. The body knows what to do.

A lot of people here will tell you that masturbating while trying to be rid of porn will make it harder. I agree. But in the end, you decide what you want.

    Day 6

I dont know if it is psychological but effects of stopping PMO is out there for the noticing sometimes. I was always confident but I am more confident nowadays and I make people laugh more than i did before. I feel comfortable talking to people and girls especially. I stopped over-thinking about little things. I feel more powerful when I go to gym or wake up in mornin with a full energy bar.

As for the urges and temptations, I cant say that they dont exist. But Im handling it all for now. It is kinda dangerous when I watch music videos or Scrolling down in my Instagram but I always tell myself that I dont need masturbating and it is a short termed pleasure. I write songs or read in my free-time, which are the times i used to masturbate to waste.

So things are going cool for me, maybe it is about stopping PMO or thinking as it is about stopping PMO. Anyways. Im happy!

    Day 9

I've had some sexual thing yesterday but not actually had sex. After having that kind of pleasure and not busting a nut, I feel more urges to just pop one out and relieve. Should i do it? HELL NO! I'm resisting against my will, I will self-discipline, I'll improve, I'll strive to achieve. That's what Im destined for, to be the one who does extraordinary things. I'll keep my proteins inside me, and keep my self respect at its level just to upgrade it to higher levels. I'll keep my power just to lift more weight and to wake up everymorning with an ambition. Ambition to get things done! That's real words I spit, fellas. Anybody who doubts me will see me at the top of the sh*t I am trying to get top of! I am f*cking angry! Angry at myself for the times that I've been wasting my time, for the times I've been too lazy or been a spoiled f*cking kid. F*ck being a boy, I'm a MAN! I will DOMINATE!

  6. Hey @UDK ,

I'm just a normal ordinary member. No moderator super powers and no special insite. I share my ESH (Experience, Strength and Hope) of what works for me.

Just another warm welcome and a heart felt hello. This community has helped me so much.

What worked for me was "working" it. It took hard work for me to complete a hard reboot (No pmo) for 120 days, then move into a Sex Positive mode.

First, reading the literature published by NoFap itself along with reading journals.

Then, doing the work. Writing in my journal and replying to introductions and other's journals.

Finally, but not least, getting involved with the fellowship. I found it on the forums, but also in people's profiles. The forums tend to be longer posts, where the profiles tend to be more "conversational".

That is what has worked for me. I like to remind myself that this community was here waiting for me with the lights on when I arrived. Now, I have to do my best to be there when someone comes to the community.

    Then, watch this video:

    PS -

One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals. Reading other's stories with their victories and even defeats is a big part of my program.

I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work.

Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

Man, I really loved your approach on this, so let me thank you upfront for nice things that you've said.
As for the video; That video is the video which has introduced me to this website and it's philosophy. I really respect the facts about this experiment. I can say Im mentally improved about this subject since I joined here. Because I've witnessed the improvements happening in my life. Anyways Im more steady and strong in mind. sometimes I dont even get a urge to masturbate ( cant say the same for having sex). I've found my own way to deal with the problems so thanks for those journals, i'll check if i wonder other men's struggles but for applying the same ways in my life, i dont think its useful. I believe everybody has got to get their own way to deal with these kinda problems.

However, thanks for your support and help bro!

    Day 12

Im keeping my body exhausted and my free - time fulfilled. So I dont have any urges to masturbate. I've started to think that masturbating is fooling yourself so Whenever old fella sends me signals about doing that kind of stuff, I tell myself to have respect for myself. I'm depressed half the time, but thats irrelevant to masturbating, its about me being realistic. Anyways, It's just same old me. Nothing much!

  9. Hey @UDK ,

Your welcome. Looking forward to seeing your journal. Start your journal in the forum section listed by age. I have no idea why they are listed by age - but hey get along to go along, I say.

Then, in "Personal Details" you can add a link to your journal. I will appear below your avatar on every post. Makes it easy for people to find your journal. You can always rename it, so don't worry if you don't come up with a jazzy ass name right away.

Then, kindly, post a link to your journal here on this this thread or on my profile. That way I can add it to my alert list when you add an entry.
