“Faced with today's problems and disappointments, many people will try to escape from their responsibility. Escape in selfishness, escape in sexual pleasure, escape in drugs, escape in violence, escape in indifference and cynical attitudes. I propose to you the option of love, which is the opposite of escape.”

    Reposting forever, lol!

(Apparently JP2 might not have said it, according to Matt Fradd, but he didn't know who did say it)

Brothers, just so their is no confusion, please respect the Holy Eucharist and do not go up for communion unless you are in a state of sanctifying grace! Thank you

2352 By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action."138 "The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose." For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of "the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved."139

2354 Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.

1385 To respond to this invitation we must prepare ourselves for so great and so holy a moment. St. Paul urges us to examine our conscience: "Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself."218 Anyone conscious of a grave sin must receive the sacrament of Reconciliation before coming to communion.

This is straight from the Catechism of the Catholic Church... both are grave, both are always willfully consented, and now you have the knowledge. This sin is sacrilige and is very serious. Please do not get communion while you have PMO'd without confession. So PLEASE, do not go and receive communion with the mortal sin on your soul. We must defeat this sin if we want Jesus' promises.

The links below may help motivate you. Do not abuse divine mercy and presume God will forgive you because you are "addicted".

I don't think it is sinful to have them, nor to want/anticipate them in the general sense of desiring good male health and letting the body take care of itself in nature's way, rather than taking action into your own hand (self-help). However, I have seen guys on here go down the bad road of seeking and wanting wet dreams, as if they have a TV porn guide in hand, just waiting with exhilarating anticipation of sexual entertainment for when the next wet dream erotic show will begin. Then, some even journal from day to day of the previous night's erotica with gleeful conquest - thinking they've achieved great chastity and PMO recovery with this side outlet. Or, they are suddenly bored and in the dumps when they don't get their nocturnal porn, thinking they are dead down there as men. But, I think this is unhealthy obsession. The wet dreams themselves become their obsession and the focus of their heart's love and desire - and this can be seriously skewed. Our heart's love and desire should be for Something much more worthy, if you know Whom I mean. God bless!

Someone pointed or a much better attitude just now. It is fine too desire relief from the stress of pent up sexual frustration. The means should be irrelevant. If it is a nocturnal emission, so be it. If it is distraction until the feelings ebb naturally, that should be equally (or more, perhaps) desirable. If it is the grace of the instant removal of temptation, this would be most desirable, I suppose. But, ultimately, one should want the will of God, even if it is God's will that the discomfort continues.
