Two years ago in 2016, when I masturbated everyday/almost everyday, my face was quite ugly and full of pimples/acne. My face was more pale and my acne was quite serious that time and I used to think it's not caused by masturbation but just caused to hormonal changes during puberty which is normal. It usually didn't go away and stays on the face/doesn't change much over time. I didn't monitor new breakouts though but I know there was lots of acne.

I've abstained from masturbation and orgasm for about 40 days and noticed breakouts/acne had reduced and my face looks clearer now. My face has gained the ability to recover acne and new breakouts are less frequent and in fewer amounts. My eyes look bigger and face looks more energetic/lively/alive. I also notice the skin looks lesser pale/better complexion.

So...I'm aware that this is actually a widely discussed topic on the Internet. Anyway, I still want to ask about it because I can't really find proper answers on the web so far. I have read that masturbating causes loss of zink and hormonal imbalances/more oil secretion which causes acne. However, some articles say they are not directly related with each other while some say they have no correlation. Does anyone have any idea if masturbation is a cause of acne? It makes more sense to me anyway that masturbation can cause acne due to the many other devastating effects/damages it can cause and its disgusting science of the processes that happens behind masturbation. Or does it depend on the individual and circumstances/situation (like method/frequency of masturbation/etc.)?

I also would like to ask what does it mean by those articles online which say masturbation and acne are not directly related with each other....this is confusing and I don't understand.

41 Days is Great -- keep up the good work!

Seems like you know a lot about this topic.

"Not directly related" -- Sounds like doctors or scientists talking. I think that means that masturbation and acne may be indirectly related -- there may be some [minor] relationship between the two. Or that masturbation may be an 'assisting' cause of acne.

Are they related? Maybe............ like you say low zinc levels. Perhaps also lethargy (laziness) due to PMO ....... sitting around......low blood circulation.... eating oily foods (potatoe chips, corn chips, etc)....... no exercise........etc.

    Here's one answer:
    What causes acne?
"Acne is caused by clogged pores (also called hair follicles), which are small openings in the skin through which hair grows. Deep inside each follicle is a hair shaft attached to small glands called “sebaceous glands.” These glands make an oily substance called sebum to moisten our hair and skin. When too much sebum is made, it can mix with dead skin cells (that we are constantly shedding) to create a sticky plug, which clogs the hair follicle. [Then bacteria enter the clogged pore and cause a red infection -- or pimple.] This is very common during teenage years (puberty) because of normal changes in hormone levels (i.e. high hormone levels)."

Acne may also vary due to the climate a person is living in. In Spring and Summer -- when people exercise more -- there may be less acne due to the skin perspiring -- or cleaning out the pores.

    So, don't worry about it.
    If you:
    1. Keep your Day Counter going UP.......... (by avoiding lethargy-laziness assisting PMO).

    2. Moderate Exercise -- produces endorphins; gets rid of stress; and causes 'vapors' [see thermal imaging videos]
or 'perspiration' to exit from your skin -- cleaning out pores. The perspiration also help *destroy bacteria on the skin.
    3. Eat a Healthy diet (variety of foods). Try to avoid reeeally greasy foods, french fries, butter, gravies, tons of cooking oil, etc.

    4. a) Wash face daily. And b) use about 70% rubbing alcohol at evening -- pour on tissue or paper towel and wipe face (this is easy and only takes about 2 minutes). You can switch a) and b). In the morning use the 70% rubbing alcohol........ and wash face in the evening.

Then you will probably have Healthy, Clean and Good looking skin :)

*Antibiotic in Sweat Found to Fend off Bacteria
According to researchers from across Europe, a protein found on human skin and activated when we sweat is able to kill harmful microbes and even fight those that are resistant to traditional antibiotics.

Known as Dermcidin, the protein becomes active when it encounters slightly acidic and salty environments—sweat being the perfect solution. Once activated, it funnels harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungus through its structure, destroying the cells in “fractions of a second,” according to Medical News Today.
