Whatsup fellows, okay this is a little weird but i have my reasons. The truth being told we will all accept that watching porn does give our brain a sort of rush and that is why we want to watch it again and again and searching relentlessly until we find something from which we get the same level of rush which we got initially. My question is(if good sense of humor may permit) that if we use that same level of high rush into our work can't we be more productive? What i am saying that if we watch porn(mild obviously) and create a sorrounding that feels sexual and then do our work simultaneously(importantly resisting the urge to masturbate, that does require strength but is possible)won't we achieve greater success in doing what we are you know doing(i mean working;).Ofcourse i don't mean to say that we should convert our offices into honeymoon suites but when we can afford enough privacy, would this be beneficial and importantly not harming us in any way?---that is my exit.Feedback is welcome.
Another thing i want to add-when we say porn i do not necessarily mean the wild PORN(all the abuse there is).Suppose if someone is a huge fan of a ,you know,an adult model. Now she is just modelling and well there is no abuse involved and you just get the high. Please note that this can be just an excuse that my brain is creating to keep the porn alive(based on the feedback i got)but does this particular example also fall in that category?

Porn is valueless and can't be used for anything good. Best way is not to justify it in any way. Im sorry but that is what you are doing with this post, trying to justify consumption of porn. I doubt that anyone will encourage you with this idea because purpose of this forum is to quit terrible addiction called pornography.
You got sex drive by default and you DO NOT need porn to channel it, only way that porn will channel it is trough your dick which is in your hand.

:D I see your point but if you want to use the rush of aroused sexual energy for creative pursuits you might be best sticking to sexual energy sublimation (as mentioned in your other post in the general forum) without the use of porn. And honestly if I'm understanding you correctly there are some advocates of these practices who say you can use any means you see fit to create the stirring/arousal of sexual/creative energy but you'll not find many people here who will advise you to use porn as it goes directly in the face of what most of us are trying to achieve here which is the complete removal of the influence of porn on our brain and in our lives etc. There's nothing stopping you using (non-porn related!) fantasy or remembering personal experiences (which is what I do) to stir these energies etc but not porn (depending on your personal reasons for being here of course?)

Fair enough mate.Three things that i would add:1.I am not promoting porn.Porn is unreal in all its senses and uses our temptations. What i meant with the topic was anything that gives us a sexual arousal, perhaps i should have been more specific with the topic.2:My point was to ask if someone who tried and felt that he/she worked better in a sexually arousing environment.3:Thankyou for your feedback.More suggestions are welcome. To Angriff.

Thanks mate.I understand what you are trying to say.Obviously using your personal experiences in arousal requires imagination and is in itself really refreshing for the brain. The problem is if your personal experiences were really intense then controlling yourself from masturbating requires great will-power.With porn it is easier since you are completely unrelated to that experience(well mostly)and the arousal is never that high and it is more easier(though abusive on your brain). To jiltedjohn

It might be easier to some but honestly try ask yourself if there's part of you that is trying to keep the porn alive and is trying to justify that? And besides it might require will power but if this is a route you sincerely wish to take then will power is something you really will have to cultivate (probably as an absolute priority) Also I'm not convinced that using porn would require any less will-power? But really, you'll get no encouragement here to use porn!:)

Hi Ted. At the height of my porn addiction I thought much the same as you. I thought I had to have porn with my coffee in the morning just to get motivated, and I used it during my work hours thinking it motivated me or gave me a jolt of energy or inspiration. What I now know is that I was just using porn to get a dopamine fix.

This is probably a broad oversimplification but I have said it before: There are two types of guys here, the guys who are trying to keep porn in their lives, but control it, and the rest that realize they cannot control porn, so have ejected it from their lives. You need to figure out if you are one one side or the other. I can't handle porn, so it had to go. Completely. By the way, I am MUCH more energized without porn than I was when I was accessing it daily.

    Peace.

Nope watching anything that is sexually stimulating is just feeding your brain to wanting more and will no doubt lead to PMO best just to avoid it completely mate, i even try to avoid music videos these days because most have triggers for me at least.

    Hello William,
Thankyou for your input.Since i posted this i have had a happy(or rather necessary)realization that it is just my mind trying to keep the porn,so well it just had to go.I read your other posts and well just for starters deleted all the porn i had and all the sources from where i could access it blocked.Anyway as a fact high levels of dopamine are good for better performance at things. So can you guide me at certain things that can be done to keep my mind sharp without the harm that porn does.Cheers.

Hi Ted, I can see you are a man who wishes to maintain an edge. I can assure you that neither porn abuse or keeping your dopamine levels high will make you perform anything better. It may feel like it now, but that is just the high of it; that is a false feeling. If I may gently suggest...try and avoid porn or anything like it for about a month. The point of that exercise is not to find an alternative way to keep your dopamine levels high, but, rather, to get them back down, low, to "normal" pre porn levels. Once you get rebalanced you will find all kinds of things that will motivate you in a healthy way. When I read your post I hear you saying you are willing to give up porn but not the high it brings. But, you need to give up the high, and once you do you will find you can do many things much better than you could while under the influence of dopamine. Dopamine is not heroin, in healthy doses it can be fantastic, but you need to get it back down to healthy levels.

    Peace.

I will not try to argue with Ted_Mozby, not in the moral field or in the biological field (what I had to say has already been said by others).
What I can say is that I used to watch porn (or download bikini/lingerie/glamour/nude/whatever pics) and all my productivity went down the drain. I don't think that a research would be necessary to show that more than 85% of the guys here had the same experience.

Hello leodarus, well a great example you used there.Yeah surely it is better to work hard than finding the easier way out.Thanks.

Yeah well it is a little funny. But the truth is that sexual energies can be really creative if used properly but the fact that i am using porn for it is more of a bad addiction at work than a serious commitment to improve my life. Thanks for your feedback
