So yeah, I’ve been a month and 7 days now NOFAP hardmode, and I was thinking to only masturbate once a month without porn, do you think this would kill my benefits?
Social anxiety, better skin, motivation, libido, etc...
Plus, I’ve never been addicted to porn, I just wanted more motivation and energy.

It's not going to help. You need a girlfriend man, man up.

Try it, this is an experimental site. If occasional masturbation does not lead you back to porn then all's well and good, otherwise stop.

No, don't try that. The goal is to give up porn.

I have been thinking about this too. My goal at the minute is to go 90 days no PMO, but I don't want to be a monk all my life, so plan on MO once I feel I have got things under control/feel I have achieved a reset. The body needs a release of built up fluids, hence wet dreams, so I would see MO as a way to aid this. I cant say whether it will wipe out the benefits as I haven't gone long enough to achieve them yet myself.

  7. I dont know if it is possible to moderate (once a month), but I think this is hard in most of cases.
Also watching porn even without masturbating (although in most of cases you will end up with a wet pants) it is not healthy, this will not help you. Just abandon it and get into a good relationship and enjoy a healthy life.

The chaser effect might hit you after you masturbate meaning you will have to fight strong urges and arousal every time you've done. To me this sounds worse than just abstaining completely. The best option if possible is to get into a relationship as many have stated.

Very easy answers to this question

If you were/are a porn addict, masterbating will eventually lead you back down the same PMO path.

If you're gonna abstain just to masterbate and not find a real girl, what's the point in abstaining from PMO in the first place?

You need to only release through real sex. Masturbation is degenerate, so is porn. A sexual release is never necessary, it should be a luxury.

    I.e. it's a bad idea.

masturbation isn't natural mate . do not try to find excuses to do it . I believe rebooting happens after 70 days minimally . you have done a great job but still haven't reached your goal yet . strengthen up . don't let your mind go wild . you are your own boss ...

  11. My 2 cents: I think masturbation is normal, but for most of us here masturbation has gone beyond normal. How I wish I'd had the willpower to stop masturbating decades ago as I think I could have avoided the fixation with porn too.

You can do whatever you decide. The NoFap police won’t be knocking on your door. However most of us here are addicts. Read the journals and relapse reports and I think you’ll discover for most of us one PMO or even MO or even P-subs, leads to another and another and another until we’re right back where we started. For me, I have to make a commitment “never again”. Of course, I’m happily married. I might feel differently if I were celibate.

Yes I think after you masturbate you will lose some benefits. Then they will start to build up again, you will masturbate, lose them again, and the cycle will repeat.

For me, I decided I want to keep myself always in the state of having the benefits, so I'm not fapping at all.

  14. it would be easier to just quit it all together

  15. I don't think it is needed.

  16. My issues with porn, and thats what I am focused on giving up. However I have no problem with M every 7 days or 14 days or whatever. Once I do it and not use porn its a big victory for me. Having an AP in a similar situation and with similar goals might help you stick to your once a month thing and keep you on track with being porn free.

  17. just a question, did you stop PMO before or during your marriage? And what does your wife (or husband but I assume your a guy) think about your old habits?

It was during my marriage. Had been an occasional issue over 43 years but really addictive behavior over the past 7 or 8. She caught me, not in the act, but asked me about it and I couldn’t lie. She was hurt and angry, but has been forgiving and encouraging in my recovery.

I don't know. That's a very personal question you're asking. It really depends on what your goals are.

Personally, I allowed myself to masturbate during the first 90 days of my reboot. I still felt significant recovery after 90 days without porn. I thought it would be easier if I tackled one obstacle at a time. It was never a problem for me, but I can easily understand how others might have problems with self control. I'm not the type of person who has a problem with compulsive masturbation (porn was really the core of my addiction). Indeed, after I finished my first 90 days without porn, I did another 90 with neither porn nor masturbation. Now, I'm working on 90 days without porn, masturbation, or orgasm. I worked my way up to hard-mode incrementally, and that's worked out really well for me. I'm happy with where I'm at in my recovery, and I'm still moving forward one day at a time. However, I don't know if that method will work for everyone.

Having said all of that, I think there are two major risks involved with masturbating during your reboot:
    1. You might lose control and start masturbating even when you don't want to. If you're not careful, it will take control, becoming more like a prison than something that feels good.
    2. You might escalate back to porn.
Overall, I'd just advise treading carefully with it if you're going to do it.
