Book review: Sexual Energy Transmutation

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by NotSoAverageJoe, Apr 11, 2014.

  1. This book is great. It talks about conserving and transforming sexual energy. Using its powers in more productive ways such as business, art, education, finance, anything.

The author explains how excessive ejaculations of semen causes issues in men's health and well being.

He is not against the act of sex but explains it should be more spiritual, not a means to an end. Sex without the focus of achieving orgasm.

I recommend anyone on this forum to read it with an open mind. Only takes a few hours to read.

I have found many guys here are angry and frustrated when they stop masturbating. This is because of an increase of energy in the body that is not being used.

Personally, I am not against masturbation in moderation. Porn is the major issue. If you see a beautiful woman it is natural to want to fantasize about her.

Do not repress your sexuality, express it, let it flow through you and into others. Don't get frustrated if you relapse.

It's not the end of the world

Don't worry, just be happy!! :)

Yes this is an excellent book. See also this thread for lenghy (and interesting!) discussion on this topic...

It's debatable whether or not the issue is porn, masturbation or both especially as for the overwhelming majority of people they go hand in hand. Personally (as I became single last year for the first time in 25 years) I don't do either at this time. I don't have sex either as I'm interested in sexual energy transmutation more than that and unless I can find a partner who shares my enthusiasm in this and/or things like kareeza I intend to stay completely single.

Having said that, and this is just me giving my take on this, I do not consider myself to be sexually repressed as I practice meditations and exercises daily that enable me to utilise, circulate, and sublimate/transmute my sexual energy.

Do I feel different or any benefits? Its hard to say but I certainly dont feel sexually frustrated. I feel like I have more focus and determination etc. Im exercising more and eating better than I was 4/5 months ago. My relationship with my kids is better than ever. Im more balanced all round. Im making definite in-roads to a new career ive been wanting to switch to for a while (or should I say I wanted to switch but didnt know what to do but I am clearer about things recently and have a much better sense of 'direction' etc) I've become more organised financially than I have EVER been in my life (with additional help from a book called 'The Energy of Money by Maria Nemeth and some budgetting software) Im sleeping better (having organised/implemented a better sleeping 'routine'). Is all this connected? I dont know for sure but what I do know is that im in a far better place now than I was 140 days ago (so I guess it has to be connected!;))

This book really is a fantastic introduction to sexual energy transmutation my only (slight) criticism being it doesnt offer any practical advice etc but it is a very useful, inspiring, quick and east read that should be of great interest to people here as sexual/creative energy really does need to be expressed (but not necessarily via 'external' orgasm, which is great and very useful when making babies etc;) but a total waste of vital energy and nutrients otherwise)

  3. High speed internet porn is a major issue for my generation, and those younger then I.
It sounds like you are older, and you grew up with playboys Id assume.
Picture in magazines are totally different then the unlimited, high definition, and constant variety that comes with high speed internet porn.

Masturbation is natural, people have been doing it forever.
Never has ED in young men been so widely reported as it is today.

Without a doubt, porn is the issue for most men on this forum.

Absolutely, I guess I was just adding that masturbation and porn are massively entwined in our culture and therefore very difficult for most to seperate. Also sharing my view/experience that external ejaculation is a waste of vital/creative energy that could be sublimated and used in the pursuit of far more constructive pursuits. Also I noticed lately that if I see a beautiful woman and get 'aroused' after practicing SET for a while I can, via one or two techniques, convert that aroused energy into 'fuel' etc which has been helpful in dealing with the sexual frustration/tension so common to men who are predominantly 'yang'/doing oriented and so these techniques and this subject in general are particularly beneficial and its good to see them getting a mention as I for one dont think they get mentioned anywhere near enough considering their potential etc :)
