    Hey guys,

I'm on day 6 of no PMO. I am really struggling with my body image. Most people would say I'm a good looking guy, but I don't feel that a lot of the time. I fixate on the "negative" characteristics of my body, the things that seem to (in my mind) disqualify me from the elusive-perfect "masculine guy" image I want. Here's an example: I am 6' and 185lbs lean from. However, my stomach sticks out (b/c of the curvature of my spine?) and I have a flat chest. So unless I stand straight up my stomach sticks out some, whereas a lot of the guys I see who are similar height/weight have flat stomach. These thoughts really get inside me head and eat me up. It's ridiculous in that no one has even teased me about it, but the self-consciousness feeds on itself. One of the reasons I turn to porn is that it helps "overcome" my body insecurity (temporarily of course, doing nothing to change how I look in the long run).

Does anyone else struggle with this?

How does it manifest itself and is there anything you've found helpful?

It is really easy to find flaws in yourself that others don't see. Mine is my voice, my dumbo ears, and as my sister calls it.. my "catipillar eyebrows" and I also have hairy legs and have been called sasquatch.

I am tall, but skinny. (Taller than you and weigh less)

Don't worry about it. Honestly, if it would be a problem people would tease you about it and if nobody ever mentions it then there is no problem.

The best thing is to do is feel good about yourself. I know I have days where i feel bleh, and other times I feel great. It's more in the vibe you give off. In the end what matters is what's inside since that's what makes you, you.

There is a saying by Dr Seuss, "You are You and that is truerer than true. There is nobody around who is youer than you." He also said "Those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind". If someone doesn't like you then who cares about them.

I know I am weird, but my weirdness makes me me. Don't worry bro. If it does continue to be a problem you can work on it and lift weights or excerisze.

I want big shoulders. How much do you think I would have to be able to overhead press?

  4. Everyone hates aspects of their physical appearance, even celebrities and sex icons. It's about self-acceptance, and loving yourself despite your flaws. How many ugly dudes do you see walking around like God's gift, and succeeding in all aspects of life because they don't let their flaws bother them. If there's a way you can fix it (i.e. hit the gym and bulk up), then do it; otherwise accept and move on.

Hey 'gdawg2014' and the rest of you Gentleman! 'Gdawg2014', I appreciate your transparency by posting this. I think that every man on this site have some sort of physical insecurity whether big or small. Recently, I have done a 'Self-love challenge.' There are many of these that you can find online. It seems that most are catered for women, but I believe that men and women alike can benefit from doing a 'self-love challenge.' The results are astounding and definitely helps with making you feel more confident about yourself. Hopefully there is a SLC that you can find that will help you become more confident and feel more comfortable with your appearance. Good luck to all of us!!!
