Beginner's step by step guide to Nofap

Discussion in 'Self Improvement' started by Deleted Account, Dec 23, 2018.

  1. Nofap is not an easy one shot self improvement thing. This ain't an easy stuff guys so here is a step by step guide to start your Nofap Journey.

    1. Fapping is not really that bad, but doing it with porn increases its possibility of it being an addiction. Many beginners make a mistake of repressing or stoping the urge on the start of their journey. It may work for others but for those who have serious cases, it won't. My first tip is to not repress it and do it consciously. Doing it consciously helps you deal with the urges. There are many studies that mindfulness or doing things consciously helps people deal with their addictions, but I won't discuss that too much. Fap consciously, and if possible do it without porn

    2. Many beginners want to boost theirselves by increasing their Nofap Day streak. This not bad, but other things may help you better than focusing too much in this one aspect of your life. Diversify your life by incorporating some helpful habits most succesful ones use in their lifestyle. One of them is cold showers. Cold showers helps you deal with the urges right away. I suggest you to do it before bed as most of the urges come during your bedtime. Explore and experiment, there are many tools out there that may help you along your journey. I personally think that mindfulness and meditation will not only help you in your Nofap journey but in your life also.

    3. The last thing, which many of us tend to forget, is the practice of gratitude. Most of think that we are not enough. We need to pass the society's standards. This a big problem but through the practice of daily gratitude, it will change your lives. Every night, before you go to sleep, pick up your phone and right something in your notepad. It does not have to be a long list, but right the ones that highlight your day. This will help you become aware of the things that you already have rather than finding things that you don't have.

    That's all. I have been a beginner also and I know what it feels like to start this crazy journey.

    Tl; Dr;

    1. Fap consciously, and if possible, no porn.
    2. Include other helpful tools in your journey, like cold showers, meditation, and many other stuffs.
    3. Practice gratitude. :)
