So I'm curious if this is considered porn or not. A friend of mine sent me pics of his dick. I didn't say I wanted to see them, but he showed me because he wanted to. I did get an erection from looking at them, but I did not MO to it. Would this be considered porn use?

Your post makes it appear that you conciously made the decision to view the pictures. If you were aroused, then that is definitely porn use. Reset the counter
Be sure to advocate for yourself - if you find yourself in a similar situation in the future, tell your friend or whoever that you are on a NoFap journey and nude pictures or anything arousing will only make that journey a bumpy one. Best of luck :)

Thanks, but I'm not going to restart. I abstained from MO and that is most important to me. I'll tell them to not do it again, but I'm gonna just give myself a pass this time.

Dude the P in PMO is the worst part. Just reset your counter, no shame in it.

Any of those "Does this count" questions are just rationalizations your mind creates to get what it wants, they should NEVER be acted upon.

Looking at nudes is just feeding the neural pathways in your brain that you want to destroy by starving starving them out. Doesn't matter if its "considered porn" or not, that means nothing to your brain, it doesn't know what porn is, it just knows stimuli.

For me personally fully clothed pics of some celebrities are a thing I need to fight. I've had times where I've just sat and stared at them. Sure its not porn or even nudity but its still feeding the addiction, it's getting what it wants to some extant. That was my minds rationalization, fully clothed pics. Identify yours when they pop up and fight them!

    Stay strong man!

Look I appreciate it, but I don't consider this a restart for me. How we define a restart is different for everyone. It even states in the reboot guide-

"Sometimes it’s tricky for a rebooter to determine when it’s time to reset. For instance, if a rebooter swears off porn but finds themselves browsing sexy YouTube videos, does that constitute a reset? That’s really up for that individual rebooter to determine.

If on the one hand the rebooter’s main goal is to refrain from masturbation, and watching sexy YouTube videos is tempting, then they might consider that behavior a red flag but not really a reset. If on the other hand a rebooter is trying to break a porn addiction and browsing sexy videos on YouTube puts them in the same trancelike state that they enter while watching porn, perhaps those videos should constitute porn for that rebooter, and watching them therefore constitutes a reset."

I didn't say its a reset, I think that concept is complete dogshit.

Im just saying you should be fighting back against the rationalizations, all it does it continue to feed the mind what it wants rather force it to change. The meaningless number can say you've made it 100 days or whatever but that doesn't mean shit when you've been feeding those neural pathways rhe whole time.

Focus on what really matters, fixing the damage thats been done to your brain, not a number.

Wait so I'm confused now. Are you saying the rationalization is worse than the act itself?

Maybe I am trying to rationalize it a little, but I was confused because it was a really gray area for me and I'm just trying to get people's opinions.

The rationalization is any work around type of thing. So looking at nudes because "its not porn" is rationalization, don't give into those. No, giving into them isn't worse than full on PMO but its still horrible to give into those things and will absolutely slow/stop progress.

This isn't just about just abstaining from PMO, its about healing and repairing your mind which won't happen if you give into rationalizations.

The most simple way to look at shit is to just question the point of it and if it will help you. Whats the point of looking at nudes? Why even do it? Will it help you? No, its feeding the addiction so don't do it.

Same questions apply to everything. In my case, What's the point of looking at pictures of celebrities? Will it help? Nope, still just feeding the neural pathways that im trying to kill so I need fight the urge to do that as well.

My other point was just to get your mind away from counting days and to just focus on what matters, that link goes into it.

Hey guys, decided to restart. This doesn't mean I'm starting over, I just feel better starting fresh after contemplating on it

I’d avoid nudes. But to me, it’s your intentions. If you accidentally stumble upon them then exited out of them, it’s not a reset for me, but if you were intentionally looking for nudes, it’s a P-sub at the very least.

If they sent it unsolicited and you got rid of it right away no. If you sought it out, fantasized on it, acted on it, reset.
