Anyone else have "dry dreams"? (like a wet dream without the wet part)

Discussion in 'Abstinence, Retention, and Sexual Transmutation' started by +TenPercent, Apr 24, 2019.

  1. Curious if I am experiencing something normal here:

I'm at 120 days without M or O and lately I have been doing surprisingly well in abstaining from porn, fantasy and edging.

For no apparent reason last Monday night I was having a non-sexual dream when out of the blue something very sexually stimulating (visual) happens in the dream and next thing I know I dream that I just had a wet dream. But, in reality, when I wake up sometime later I check and see that I did not actually ejaculate.

Same thing this Monday night. In my dream I am looking at a magazine for scuba diving and it turns into a porn magazine as I'm flipping through the pages.

Both times I did not ejaculate, but I felt euphoric the next day, as if I had just had great sex the night before. And then the days that followed I felt pretty awful, as if I was suffering from having had a real orgasm.

Is it possible that I am having a sort of dry dream in which I am having an orgasm in my brain (with all the emotional ups and downs of a full orgasm) but not in my body?

Has anyone else had this experience? Any insight would be much appreciated.

I've occasionally experienced what you mentioned, so what's the problem? Something normal I think, due to the abstaining period you'are actually doing!!!!!!

Yeah it happens, more like dreaming of having a wet dream

Yeah I've had this too once some time ago. The dream was like wet dreams usually are for me, but it was like I dreamed of having a wet dream and then ejaculating in it. Then I woke up surprised I hadn't ejaculated in reality.

  5. The problem, I suppose, is feeling the emotional (neurochemical) hangover that comes with having an orgasm effect as well as increased arousal, both of which make me feel like I'm right back at the beginning.

But, much as is the case with the young men who struggle with actual wet dreams, I'm not sure that there's much I can do about it.

Perhaps the best outlook that I can have on these experiences is to accept them as a challenge. Kind of like how anyone who relapses must face the challenge of sticking with their original goals instead of saying "f*ck it" and going on a bender.

Yup, that is literally what happened the first time - I woke up with my shorts chock full of spunk, only to realise later that I actually dreamt that I had woken up in this state, but in reality hadn't spilled a drop.

These are the "nocturnal emission concern dreams", they tend to get more often and stronger if you have gone a long time without having a wet dream/nocturnal emission, but if you only see the ejaculation happen in the dream, but do not feel a STIMULATION such as mental/physical as if something edged you or the very climax feeling but only the visual but no stimulation, then you only experienced a "freak out" dream which will show you that you did not lose the benefits of Pure S.R. from orgasm hijacking your Dopamine-Testosterone-Serotonin axis.
