    Congrats on one week @Halibut! So many people have referenced Napoleon Hill that I downloaded it and will start reading it today. The article you linked was quite interesting, especially the mention of the Magician archetype.

    Thank you for your post. You've given us more weapons in our arsenal.

    @Halibut sounds like fascinating stuff. I will have to give it a read.

    Checking in. Still going good. However, I have been getting headaches the past couple days and have felt largely down about life. The headaches could be somewhat due to seasonal allergies as well, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it partially has to do with withdrawal.

    I think the somewhat depressed outlook is withdrawal related because as I cycle through different life aspects, there is actually a ton to be excited about right now - yet I somehow feel as if life is bad. I’m sure it has something to do with my dopamine receptors being dead or something right now.

    I’m sticking to my plan of planning ahead for when I’m home alone. That’s been a huge key.

    Nice one for making it to a week! You and me to 90days now eh? ;)

    I can relate @pourover24 to feeling down. I have had what should be exciting times happen in the past week but I have felt like a zombie instead! I know that this will improve though mate. From past streaks I notice a improvement on my mood from week 1 -2 and by day 21 on wards a significant improvement in my mood.

    So keep going man as things do get better!

    This morning I MOd to instagram pictures, so I decided to stop looking at models pictures as I used to do. Good side it wasn’t to P. Kind of upset though as I was almost to two weeks without PM. Well, restarting my streak again.

    Instagram was my biggest trigger, too easy to find 'revealing' content. Must have been responsible for my last 3 relapses.
    It was also a way of me saying "well they are clothed so its not really porn" kinda thing. I would spend ages trying to 'accidentally' come across porn on Instagram by going through tags.
    DELETE INSTAGRAM AT ALL COSTS!

    I hate to admit this, but I PMO'd today. After a week of nofap, the urges were strong, but manageable. Then the wife and I had an argument, so I blew it. It is not demoralizing me, though. After 4 decades of addiction, going a week without PMO is an achievement. The last week taught me a lot.

    Stay strong everybody. This is beatable.

    Amen

    You made it a week @Pashka, like you say that is a big achievement! DONT BINGE - jump straight back on it!
    Sounds like stress might be a trigger for you?

    It is unfortunate, but as Halibut says... you got a week and that's a big achievement!. I agree, it sounds as though stress led to your fall, so learn from that, jump back in and double your time!

    Hey guys checking in. @Halibut I started reading that book also. Very interesting. Congrats on 7 days. Keep going and using all the tools you’re aquiring.
    @Pashka @Realquiter
    Don’t beat yourselves up. Like Halibut said don’t binge jump right back in. Set a new goal 7 days 14 day 30 days. Hell go for 5 days 10 days 15 days. Start small reach those goals then keep going. Learn from your relapse don’t dwell on it.
    @pourover24
    The down and depressed feeling will get better. It’s your brain trying to make you give in and think PMO will fix it but we all know it’s a short lived fix. Quitting for good is the only true fix. Hang in there.

    Limited on time but everyone else keep going strong. Take a look back to the first couple pages/ weeks of this post and see how far we have come. We are all improving, learning, and moving forward. One day at a time we will get free of this.

    Man I messed up my streak. Everything was going well until day 7 or 8 and after that, I've had headaches every night and the urges were crazy and i managed to relapse a few hours ago. Can anyone tell me how they manage urges or crazy amount of headaches?

    Hey there, @Halibut, @PolarOtter, @RTBFOB. Thank you for your responses. They were a big help.

    Stress was indeed a big trigger. When my wife and I had an argument, I felt there was no more purpose in nofap. I had forgotten am not doing this to improve my marriage, or to please anyone else. I am doing nofap to become a better man, improve physically, mentally, and spiritually. If I am a better man, everything else will fall into place. It is critical to remember our purpose.

    Take care everyone.

    @freedomispossible the best way to conquer your urges is to limit your exposure to triggers. What seem to be your triggers?
    Is it stress, being isolated?
    My last relapse I had a look at what led up to the relapse and put in some preventative measures to make it less likely that I would be tempted to relapse.
    I never take my laptop into bed, for example. I am making sure that I limit the amount of time I spend alone.

    Also, you are trying to remove a bad habit and the way to do this is to replace it with a good habit. The last thing you need is to remove a bad habit that you usually spend a lot of your free time doing to suddenly trying to stop that and having a void of free time - nothing to do. This is where relapsing thoughts creep in.

    So can you get yourself into more exercise? gym? running? That has been a big personal help to get rid of the new found pent up energy. Or any new good habit? Join a club, learn guitar, go hiking ect...

    You may have relapsed but now is the time to have a good look into what you can do better this time - we learn from our set backs. Good luck - let me know if you need any help.

    I love that outlook @Pashka, definitely agree with you there, I had a hard time for a few years at putting myself first. But the truth is - If we cant look after ourselves, we cant look after anyone else!

    Hey thanks for you advices, since I MOd Friday I deleted all the girls pictures I saved on Instagram and when browsing I try to avoid looking at explicit pictures like I used to. I’m still happy about my journey so far even if I lost my PM streak, Today is still 14 days since I watched P and I feel great about it and it’s crazy how before I joined here I used watch porn every day for years so I know How feel there @Pashka , if you were able to do 1 week you can definitely do 4 weeks. So heads up!
    Also my sex life is experiencing some great improvements when it come to desire and excitation.

    Checkin’ in. 35 days, and still keeping at it. It’s getting easier the longer I go, but I’m also aware of the dangers of becoming complacent. Checking in to this group is a small, but important tool in staying on track. Hope y’all are keeping the fight up. Til next time..
