Hi, I been a daily masturbator for about two years and since 10 days I have stopped because I feel fear of develope some kind of prostatic cancer. During that time, I sometimes pee dark, have constant pain in the lower abdomen that ascend to the back and I had inflammation on the testicular conducts (vas deferens and epididimus). I go to the doctor for another medical condition and tell him this problem and he made me check the prostatic specific antigen (PSA), which have a value of 2.0 ng/mL (normal under 4.0 ng/mL). However, I never had sympthoms of enlarged prostate, just the constant pain in lower abdomen and testicles and the dark urine, and after 10 days I started having urges to pee constantly and the sympthoms of prostatitis that I never had before (no fever). After this time, my conducts has slowly recovered, my urine come back to normal and the pain is slowly receiding. I know that PSA is not always a good indicator and start to grow very slowly in different stages of prostatic cancer, so I will check it out in some months to see if start rising out of normal values, just to be extremely cautious. Also, I will go to the doctor once again to a prostatic examination (in some moment it has to happen haha).

My questions are: ¿Is it normal to experience sign of prostatis after a while of abstinence? If so, ¿how much time is necesary to the signs to go away? ¿Should I be worried for prostatic cancer at my age (27), even if I was a chronic masturbator (I don't know my family medical record, as I have an adoptive family)? ¿Some of you have some similar experiences?

At least, my urge to masturbate are well controled until now and I am determined to stop doing it for good. It is hard, but I think I start to developed the right mind setting and self-discipline.

These are important questions and we want to make sure you're getting the right advice. As much as the noFap community can be helpful, it seems like regular visits to your doctor is more important. Tell him/her exactly what you told us, INCLUDING the questions about masturbation. Don't be surprised or offended if the doctor doesn't believe in pmo addiction, though.

I did, I know the importance of telling everything to the doctor, I just wanted to know if there are some similar situations before my next appointment in about two weeks. Regrettably, my doctor doesn't seem very interested (in nobody, for what I have been told, so I pretend to go to another medical professional). I am conscious this is not a medical forum, I just want to know the experiences of other people, just to have an idea if is part of the recovery process or not. But obviously, the last word comes from the professionals. Thank you for the concern.
