Addiction and Advice

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by lonerey325, Feb 22, 2014.

  1. Hi there, I haven't been on this site for a month, and I need some help and advice. My name is Shaun, 22 year old male.

I have had an addiction to masturbation since March 2006. Ever late 2011, I have noticed a lot of bizarre effects that has been effecting my body. I started losing hair, hard time focusing, losing concentration, and becoming dumb. I have had a porn addiction for quite some time. My record for not masturbating is 2 weeks. Ever time I stop, I find a way to masturbate or watch porn again.

I noticed the effects of not masturbating instantly . I had more energy, more happy, can go more reps/sets, and my approach/social anxiety dropped like crazy. Approaching people was much more easier, anxiety was lesser than before.

I somehow found a way to not masturbate by using the elastic band technique through youtube. What you do is put an elastic band on your wrist, doesn't matter if it left or right. Every time I get an urge to masturbate or watch porn, I pulled the band back and let it go. It will sting a bit, but it will make you stopped the bad habbits/addictions.

It worked for a bit, once again, I somehow found a way to masturbate. I need some advice on any other ways to quit masturbating and porn.

I turned to the internet for help because I don't feel comfortable talking to anyone about my addiction

Hi mate, for now it might be a good idea to browse the forums and read some threads as you are bound to find some inspiration in there. Sorry wish I could add more but just off out:eek:

Educating yourself on the reason you are addicted may help. Once you understand the addiction, it helps. To know your enemy, means you can defeat your enemy. I still read the forum, porn addiction websites, and fight against the urge. It's something we will always fight. Training your mind not to wonder helps as well. This crap starts in our head. You just don't find yourself jerking to porn. If you mull it over, it will mull over you. Know your triggers and defeat them
