    Hi everyone!
I just wanted to dive into the world of what-ifs today so I have to ask a question.

How do you think you would be if Nofap never existed? Your mind? Personality? Character? What would you be like now?

Maybe the world would be like this:

I don't know man. I guess it affects differently depending on the person. Many would have sought help anywhere else. Others maybe won't.

For many, especially the younger, NoFap will be a huge impact in their lives because it's the first real problem they've encountered.

For me personally, it's just a community I always will be grateful to, and a community I will always try to help, to gain awareness of the issue, etc. but as a participant, I'm just trying to get out of it asap to focus on my life.

I would still be doing this:

Wake up and pick a porn clip and jack off to prepare for the day. Not because I wanted to, but because I was accustomed to. This was my "fun" even though it had been done so many times, it wasn't fun. Then at work once boredom or inactivity struck, watch another porn clip and jack off to feel better about my day. Then late at 12am watch another porn clip to alleviate the "horrible" day I had, or lament myself for not following my goals.
    Repeat. Endlessly repeat.

I'm sure many of the men and women here can relate to the above.

A world of NoFap would be a world where there wasn't a community that actively recognized the PMO problem, shared the many thoughts that as a collective go in our heads, discovered ways to fix it, which eventually leads to more than a few find their own solutions, and live their lives PMO free.

Without NoFap I'd still be a full time addict, just as before. Why? Because I tried to stop by myself almost every day for around 10 years and the other groups that existed back then (at least the ones that I've information about) where on the line of "don't do it because God thinks it's bad" (I'm a believer myself, but that approach just doesn't work for me). Then NoFap came and I finally gathered all the necessary resources to stop once and for all, not only the technical information about the brain chemistry, but also the invaluable support of the great community that we've all helped to build here.

I think that I would be stuck in my rut of trying to quit pmo. Before this I was stuck in relapsing every 3-7 days it sucked.

I would probably have less discipline. Heavily desensitized. Not being on the day I'm on. And it is nice to communicate with other people like me. My grandpa said I was different this year so another good thing. But I think its mental. See when I can say I don't do what lots of guys do I think that I'm more disciplined and that I can overcome challenges.

I know this won't be my last or even my hardest challenge. But its the first where I have had to take it on full force I can't half it. I think this summer was much better unlike last years because I had momentum going into it and was able to go through it.

I also think now I'm less scared of reality I'm able to look the truth in the face and accept it. I feel in the past I tried to run away and look the other way and say oh "I'll worry about it later." But the reality is there is no later its now or never.

That's a great moment, when you say to yourself "fuck this, this is IT" and you really mean it. And when I say "you really mean it" I mean when you decide to stop pushing the dopamine button once and for all, as William said. I believe that addictions (at least porn addiction) is a matter of personal choice, as I follow Jack Trimpey's view on this (he spoke about alcohol, but it's the same).

Another fapstronaut spoke recently about imagining FAP as a drug, so he portrayed himself as someone who never does drugs. Hence, while including FAP in the drug category, he doesn't FAP anymore.

What worked for me was to close the door to fapping definitely, as "something that I never do". I'd never imagine myself going to some corner looking for cocaine. So I too imagined that FAP was my cocaine and my corner was my screen.

  9. If NoFap didn't existed, I'd be dead. Dead and gone, in my wood box, six feet under, talking to God. I'd have thrown myself from the second floor, Jaunary 2nd 2014, 4am30. Or hanged myself in the bathroom. Anyway, this time I wouldn't have missed me. NoFap was here when I needed it the most, more than life. It became the solution when I thought it was the poison. I can't go back. And I refuse to go back. This is the most serious stuff on Earth for me. I 100000% understand that it absolutely isn't the case for quasi everybody else, but for me it is. God is above everything else, then come sex and art, the holiest expressions of love. Pleasure is not necessarily happiness. Freedom is not necessarily doing what you want. I'll never believe that again.

Wow thats very motivational you all! Thank you for answering!

If nofap wasn't here for me I would be stuck at 7 days then relapse over and over. I wouldn't be able to find myself and actually improve like I never have before. I owe Alexander too much... And I just want to do my best. For him, my family and for all of you.
