There's a quote by Buddha "Whatever we are is result of our thoughts, the mind is everything".
Since past 1-2 months this has been bothering me that are our feelings, fears, values and even our true self are result of our thoughts? Is that it? If this is true then it must mean that we are all perfectly equal on every level of our true soul. Our intelligence, common sense and our capabilities are all the same on the same level deep inside but only our thoughts shape us since the day we were born? Is the reality that simple?
This question has really been troubling me a lot and start questioning my own opinions in other parts of my life! Your opinion is really of great value to me right now. A reply would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

I think i get it but can you explain in more detail. (LOL this looks like a movie scene where the great sensei comes along, gives some bullshit advice and then the student realises its the most sensible and truest thing ever)

I think what Buddah was saying is that our perceptions determine what we experience.
If someone is in tune enough with themselves and their mind they can make any situation good.
What you believe about yourself determines how you interact with the world and how the world interacts with you.

I believe the statement is true, but with some caveats that are essential to understanding it. It may be that we’re all equal in potential at the deepest level of the soul, but not everyone has equal access to their true mind, nor is anyone's access perfect and constant.

For instance, one’s true self is generous and kind, but if we’re hungry and cold, or if we’re worried and in a hurry, we often overlook those in our path who deserve our compassion, even to the point of stepping over them or pushing them aside. Everyone suffers from this weakness. Some seem to overcome it, but only with great effort.

And think about what people do when they lack the most basic education, they’re never taught how to think or socialize. Usually, they struggle and suffer needlessly. At best, they learn some tricks that allow them to survive, to maximize pleasure and reduce pain. Most of us can point to a time when ignorance made us act foolishly.

True mind is not simply a gift that we’re given when we’re born, wrapped loosely in paper that we only need to rip off in order to do with it what we will. True mind needs to be brought out (by removing obstacles) and sought out (through good teaching) in order for humans to enjoy the privilege of using it. We don’t come into the world with equal opportunities, but we all can improve, and some of us (the lucky ones) are left without an excuse for falling short of excellence.

I agree with this. ofcourse every person has unique experiences what sort of make every human unique. the only thing that limits a person is what they can make themselves believe they are. What you believe to be, so shall you act and eventually become.

  9. In my opinion, yes, the reality is that simple.
No and yes. Mind is just a tool.

What do you exactly mean by mind is just a tool?
    Can you elaborate?

I have found the mind follows what it is given. Give it porn it wants list and sex. Give it good information and knowledge it give you experience. In the meditation practices I have been learning (for different sources) it is a matter of going deeper into the heart and soul.
I have in the past 5 months gained more faith in my God and what I can become by looking deeper into my soul. I hope this helps

On one hand, yes what we think goes a long way in determining what we are and can do.

On the other hand, there are other factors that influence it. Most importantly we are NOT all the same. Everyone has different capabilities and talents.

That was what I was searching for Immor. Everyone is different. This is the truth. And I dont guess it I BELIEVE it and i KNOW it!

  14. Well, If you believe that the mind is everything and follow it, you are screwed 'cause the mind can easily create repetitive thinking and then patterns like a machine. When you give to much attention and follow these thoughts and patterns you are fueling them and they become stronger leading you on a vicious cycle and maybe in some kind of addiction.
Use your mind. Don't let your mind use you.

  15. The Statement by Lord Buddha is Absolutely Correct, and I Agree that We all are SAME,only Physical differences are There.Deep Inside us,There is a Soul, and A Soul is neither better than another or worse than another.A Horse's Soul = A Man's Soul. That is Clearly Written In Our Scriptures, and Lord Buddha is Spot on.

So you would say the difference between a horse and a man is only in their thoughts? ;)

Well the horse brain isn't capable of thinking like our brain and they don't have the ability to speak. but if we pretend they have the same brain as a human and they could speak. There would be physical differences and a few in how the horse sees itself because he has a horse body thing.

This is getting complicated but If I cut off the horse head it dies, If I cut off the head of a human it dies also. the horse and human are 2 living organisms that live and die quite due the same circumstances. They both live (life = soul in my opinion) and they both die.

So yes "only Physical differences are There.Deep Inside us,There is a Soul, and A Soul is neither better than another or worse than another.A Horse's Soul = A Man's Soul." He didn't talk about thought but that comes with the brain which isn't capable or develloped like that of a human. (physical)

What can I say... According to my experience with affirmations, it's true. The mindset is everything - the beginning of everything, to be accurate. The most important thing here is to understand how it happens, because it's not that simple. If anybody could say out loud "I'm millionare" and it would happen, then there would be no poor people. It's somehow diffrent. It reworks your mind, so it sees thing you wouldn't otherwise see. Let me explain:

Suposse that you're affirmating "I, your name, am completly safe everywhere and always". You do it for those 30 days and feel that the affirmation session for that one is completed. Same eveining you go out to drink a beer with a friend and you have two options - either to go by the bus, or by the tram. You choose tram without even thinking about it, and tommorow you get info that the bus you would take crushed on a tree. What I mean is that it doesn't make you immortal for example, but lets you unconsciously make good decisions. Same with "I, your name, am attractive to girls". After the sessions is completed you unconsciously start doing things which girls like, or you suddently get idea to have a new haircut, or come across a discount on some fancy jacket. I hope you got it :)

PS. The most important thing - you must belive it. It won't work if you have mindset of "meh, what a bullshit, why I'm even trying". Wish you best and have a nice day!

Allow me to mention another point: most people who are slaves to PMO and say nofap is a placebo, they might partially be right. But we are overlooking two things here: first, is the power of "placebo", which is immense, considering that the internal life of human beings is always superior to their internal world/life, and should never be neglected. The second, how is it that the placebo of nofappers is so strong that they notice so many aspects of their lives changed? does this imply that with nofap, you increase your "placebo" ability? gain to some an extent, a True Mind? I believe this is so. Because I see a connection between this and the fact that when you're on nofap, meditation seems to be able to do its work without being ruined (I've noticed that PMO's effects on me conflict with the ones gained by meditation, introspection, physical exercise...). During my last streak of 23 days which ended by trickery of the brain this evening, I made more progress in my life in my aspirations to being an excellent human being than perhaps in a year. PMO is a great obstacle that stands in the way of the methods to being an excellent human being. Since there was no hindrance or sudden interruption that killed my enthusiasm, my practices were able to do their job. I think a person that carries the burden of PMO or less dangerous things like drugs, alcohol, cigarrette, or anything else that's compulsive, has great difficulty becoming a great individual. Why else would I be making so little progress with so much practical knowledge as to how elevate my consciousness over the 4 years I've known them? There has to be a reason that I feel blissful for 3 days then I suddenly feel like a worthless human being who is carried by this tide or that and smashed against cliffs as if his only destiny is pain and suffering: the complete oppossite? For a person that wants to live a "normal life", they probably won't notice much benefit from nofap because they're spiritually the same place where they started. But someone, say, who hasn't PMO'ed in 20 days and has done much work in shaping his mind and creating positivity in many aspects of her/his life, she/he will be devastated by one session of PMO. We must always remember that conventional science is imperfect and the world is not as concrete as it would have us eventually believe.
    I hope I made sense.
