A new Fapstronaut XD

Discussion in 'New to NoFap' started by Deleted Account, Aug 18, 2019.

  1. Hi there. call me Jacob! Actually... I've been since 6 years ago and without stopping everyday. Even if i did, the best i can stop is 2 weeks at best ( succeeded only twice) and if I masturbated that day, my mindset tells me to fap for another time since you've failed it anyway. Every time I fapped, i felt guilty and still after that, the same ... Since the beginning of this year, I've been searching ways to stop, but still I failed a lot. However, I did found read about a few ways to stop it but it still not that powerful to me. So... Today... I decided to create an account in this website to put a stop in this addiction as it ruined for the past 6 years of my life... I hope you all can help me through this journey, for the new ones, let's start this journey together!! If I somehow don't understand much about something(maybe posting anything or updating counter and stuff) , please forgive me (>.<) . Last but not least, I want to quit porn for good!! I hope anyone can help guiding me through this journey, I would be very appreciated, thank you!

  3. Heyyy welcome to the NoFap forum : ) It's nice to see you here fighting the good fight alongside us!

    Here is just some advice:

First and foremost please take a look at each section in the forum, there might be something(s) you may find of big help to you. Feel free to post there :+)

Then secondly I just strongly advise you to be active on your profile(as there quite a few active people in the profile section). Please start by choosing an avatar and then make daily status posts to show you're active and needing support/encouragement. They've also got a neat little feature that shows freshly posted statuses for all users to see. People will find your profile and give you encouragement/support.

People (are beginning to) love communicating in the profile section..(it should be and is )mostly spportive talk but it doesn't hurt to deviate from supportive talk. It would be great to have you join in and support others in the threads, profiles, and journal, we could always use your help and in return you shall receive some as well!

Thirdly, You should also highly consider creating a public journal and write about your days in more depth for us members to follow along your journey and offer support to you by way of posting in your journal.

Last but not least: Good luck on your journey here, make sure to really give it a try with all your heart!

Hey welcome Jacob. I am new here too and just starting. I really relate to the rationalizing of behavior you describe when saying that once you already messed up once during the day, might as well go all out and just screw up the rest of the day harder. I'm still, after all these years of various addictions and thinking about things, trying to wrap my mind around the seeming paradox of not wanting to be too hard on myself if I mess up, and having the attitude of it is ok just correct course now, andthe attitude of the goal being complete abstinence from the behavior because any mess up is dangerous and can lead down a dark path. How to reconcile being strictly commited to something while simultaneously not feeling like a complete failure and just saying fuck it when you mess up? It's mind melting to me this paradox.

    Welcome to the Nofap community.
We made the habit and we can break the habit.
There are no failures. Each one of us is passing his or her individual learning process. If we relapse we make a new start.
The NO PMO journey is not easy but worth the effort.
    The community will support you.
Maybe you want to make some commitment. I prefer short-term streaks (maybe 14 days-streak) and if I pass I prolong. It's your choice.
