  1. Over the course of a few years, I've made various short-lived attempts to quit pornography and masturbating, all of which have ultimately ended in failure.

My hope is that NoFap will be able to provide me with the courage and resources necessary to separate myself from this addictive habit once and for all. I know that a long, and hard journey lies ahead of me, but also that it'll be worthwhile.

Any helpful advice that you may be able to give me in regards to quitting pornography and masturbating would be greatly appreciated.

This seems to be a great community, and I'm looking forward to partaking in it!

Welcome. It is a great community, everyone is ridiculously supportive. I'm similar to you in that I tried for many years to break my habit unsuccessfully, but since I joined I have successfully avoided porn on 117 days in the last 120 or so. There are guys here who have just completely walked away from their addictions and have been clean for years now - that's something that my younger self would simply have considered impossible. I won't try and pretend it's easy, but it can be done, and the community plays a gigantic role in helping people like you and me to quit for good.

For what it's worth, my best advice would be to keep a journal thread. There's a few good reasons:
    1. You can see patterns of thought and things that tend to trigger your addiction
    2. You can see how far you've come.
    3. We can see what's going on, so you can be accountable and we can cheer you on and offer advice /support
    4. It also will become a record of your journey - so others can learn from your experience.
    Hope this helps.

    Good luck

  3. Thanks for your reply!

I don't expect it to be easy, for sure. But, it's something that I have got to get out of my life. This habit just doesn't have any place in my life anymore, and it's conflicting more and more with other things, and I can't allow that to happen.

I'm glad to hear that this community has been so helpful and supportive! That's exactly what I need, something to keep me motivated and on track to beating this addiction for good!

I'll absolutely start that journal as soon as possible, I've already been taking a look at those in the Reboot Logs section.

I'm excited to get started, and get rid of this habit for good.
