4 months of monk mode Man, time flies. Not very pleased with progress in April. I've been in some kind of setback since being hit by a car 2 weeks back. Played Civ6 for hours again yesterday. Self-discipline is falling apart, not good. Being goalless is even worse. I'm in a state of anhedonia now, lacking any motivation. Hardly anything gives me pleasure. Probably still have PIED. Zero cravings for PMO/MO or interest in having real life sex. I have to find some goals that would motivate me enough to stay on the path to recovery. I wanted to establish new goals a month ago but did nothing. 30 days wasted. Abstinence is just that - abstinence, not much progress comes from it after certain period of time if one stops implementing positive changes. Abstention can also mean stagnation and my last month was just that, stagnation, maybe even regression.

Write your goals down TODAY. Write them long term and break them down into smaller, more manageable chunks. Then, every morning after waking up, immediately write down 3 objectives for that day that will bring you closer to those goals

Don't feel bad for yourself either. Do what you can. When athletes are rehabbing from injury, they still hit cardio. They still work their uninjured muscles, and they work their injured muscle with as much load and intensity as it can handle. No excuses.

    I have the 1st day I started this reboot-> https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/hopeless-case-searching-for-hope.187822/

I just have to find additional goals. The problem is my motivation to do anything is zero. It's hard to explain. Nothing I mean literally nothing gives me pleasure anymore. Even eating food feels like a burden. Writing this reply is super difficult. Hard to explain. Word anhedonia describes the state most accurately.

Do it anyway. Even if you do it with 0 motivation, and 0 pleasure, you're conditioning yourself to act a certain way. Eventually you will derive pleasure because your life will reflect your efforts

I'm having problems finding motivation even to brush my teeth or staying awake these days. I can't think about long term goals. If I can wake up at normal hour and check my list of daily routines in the evening is a big win for me right now. It must be PAWS.

I recognize what you are going through.

    Keep. Going. Forward.

Put your alarm clock at the same time each morning around 7-8 AM.
    Don't relapse.
    Don't eat crap food.

    Plow through.

    We'll get there

I often like to think of life like a stock chart. It has its up's and its downs. Major rises and major falls, you just gotta take your mood as it comes and take small steps to try and improve your mindset day by day

I'm hoping it's just PAWS. I've heard that they can last up to 2 years.

You can't blame everything on porn bro. Porn is A problem, but it isn't THE problem. Most of us turn to porn because we're treating an underlying issue. My guess is that your lack of motivation is being caused by that same underlying issue.
Go on YouTube and type in "Jordan Peterson Clean your room" for some motivation

I understand where you're coming from. But never underestimate someone's symptoms.

There is no way you could image, I mean..

One year ago I was having the most horrific terror sensations. Nobody believed nor understood me. Turned out I had a pyridoxine intoxication...

Besides that. Porn CAN and sometimes does invoke these kind of horrific symptoms. There is just too much people experiencing these same things over and over again during their withdrawal.

That being said, I like Jordan Peterson and watching his vids certainly can help in molding ones character.

I'm not discounting the legitimacy of withdrawal symptoms. I am critiquing the disregard for personal responsibility. Ots easy to place something outside of your locus of control, but that makes you powerless. Even if its unrealistic, you have to lie to yourself and say "I am stronger than this thing that has control over my life". Fake it till you make it. It's the reason that affirmations work for so many people

True! Even better is taking action..

@Fenix Rising try to really set your alarm clock at 7:30 each morning and get out of bed and stay out of bed the whole day untill 9.30 PM.
That's the way I started to take control of my sleep pattern. It seems unrealistic until you actually get out of bed each morning without snoozing. Hell, the first two nights I didn't get anymore than 2 hours sleep bro.
And quit caffeïne after 4 PM

Do this plus total abstinence and within a few days you will find yourself making healthy meals while dancing in the kitchen.
The sleep you get between 11PM and 3AM is powerful man....
