  1. Hi there, I'm 27 years old from the UK. I am a full-time university student, hoping to overcome my addiction to pornography.

I have been using pornography for approximately 15 years. I started out masturbating to pictures of half-naked women I found in the back of Playstation magazines (in the AD section), during my first year of high school, because I was being teased for not being sexually active. After a while, this escalated to online pornography, and quickly became an addiction.

I can't remember what my life was like before pornography, but I think that since starting, it has had a negative impact on my mental health, i.e. I believe it has made me shy and anxious in social situations. I have tried many times to quit pornography, but always relapse around the 1 week mark. I feel it has affected my relationships in the past, because I have not been honest with my ex girlfriends. None of them (even to this day) know about my struggle with porn - nor do my parents.

I am currently single, and do not want to embark on a new relationship until I have overcome my addiction - which is why I want to overcome it as soon as possible, so that I can start dating again, and maybe start a family of my own!

Today marks my new "NO PMO" journey. I watched porn and masturbated yesterday just before midnight, and decided that today would be the day I would, once again, try to stop. I am aiming for 90 days of the so-called "hard mode"... No porn... no masturbation... no orgasm. Of course, I don't want to stop at 90 days, but I feel if I can make it to 90 days, I may be free from the addiction... or maybe not? I'll have to see.

Thank you for taking the time to read this - I'll keep you all up-to-date on a weekly basis, to let you know how I'm getting on.

    Cheers! :)

    Welcome to the site!
Concerning your poll, if your anxiety was caused by PMO, then a successful reboot should clear it up. If it wasn't, then at the very least, you may be feeling more confident, but you'll have to also find other ways to deal with it.
    Good luck!
