So - 100 days in and I feel like I'm in unexplored territory. I don't think I've been in this situation in 35 years and I'm enjoying it very much. By my recollection, teeens and 20s is a time where sexual fantasy is more or less the norm and maybe not too surprising. For me 30s and 40s was the time that PMO really got a grip but in the last few years (mid 50s now) has got completely out of control. I can't say there have been obvious external consequences like I'm not in prison and not the object of pity and astonishment to family and friends but my own sense of personal identity was pretty poor and my marriage was definitely suffering.

Then a random (could it possibly have been random?) web search led me to YBOP and a bit later this forum - which has truly been a game changer. I'm not so stupid as to think this makes me immune in future, however these 100 days have been a revelation. Understanding how things work has been the key and making the connection between mental fantasy, fapping and PMO and understanding a bit more of the brain chemistry that connects them all together has freed me to see that the only way to be free is to break the cycle. Which is what I've been trying to do every day. Any wandering into fantasy or replaying scenes has to be snapped off immediately. That stops the dopamine rush which causes cravings. In fact I can truly say I've hardly been experiencing cravings or withdrawal at all. I know this is probably uncommon however it's my story and for me makes clear the way it all links together.

So the issue is not just my personal counter but the bigger question of "Does it work?" For me the best evidence has been my wife's comment that she thinks she's got a new guy. We have not yet had that heart to heart that we need to have some time so she has no reason for saying this other than that it must be true.

So encouragement to everyone on the journey. There really is a prize to be had. And younger guys - you really don't want to waste these years living life in a strait jacket when you could be free. It can be done and will bring benefits. For sure. Keep at it and keep encouraging one another with any small gains we make.

Here's to a PMO and fapping free future for us all. I'm going to open a nice little bottle of red and drink to better years ahead than behind.

    Anyonw want to join me?

  2. Can't agree enough with this part. Thanks for the inspiration and keep it up. Can't wait to get there myself.

Congratulations, nice job! I'll open a bottle of red once I get to 100 days. It sounds so far out that I can't even imagine what I will feel like to get to that point but I know I need to just focus on one day at a time.

Ok - we can meet up in a nice bar I know - I don't think virtual drinking over Skype is up to much. I'm sure you'll make it. Day at a time as they say...

    Good luck and good life!

I haven't gone 100 days since I started 13 years ago. I'm glad to know that it is worth it.
