Abstaining from PMO is to open a door. And end my creation is to close a door that i've done for years. It's really painful when you have to end something you like when no one supports it. So, maybe i have more time to study to relieve the pain.

I would be really serene if i'm free from PMO and relate tensions and urges, things like that. But, I'd be really sad when i have to leave my passion, waste my imagination, cause no one values my arts which i pour a lot of time and effort just to receive no gratifications,

likes, engagement from others. It's painful to goodbye something you love, but i can't bear this situation anymore. It's like goodbye your beloved and never know when they come back.

I dont know when i'll recover, cause i draw for like 11 years, like an instinct, a proficiency, a gift. Yeah, life moves on, and so do i.

My suggestion to you is don't give up on your passion. My grandma used to stitch. No one used to buy her work. But that didn't stop her. She continued. After 15 years! After 15 god blessed years, one of her work got sold. It got recognized.
Please don't give up on something you love.

Hal. Don't let others decide for you whether you follow your passion. Likes and engagement from others are earned through socialising and engaging with their stuff for a longer period of time. Not the quality of your pictures decides that. You need to put effort to like and honestly engage with other artists to get started, and they will watch you back.

And if you don't have time to do that, then don't. But don't give up drawing. Don't close that door. If it's not worth it because you don't have enough time, then do it less. You can do it for your soul. It's like meditation. It is worth it and you could limit yourself for 30-60mins a day.

If you want to start a business with drawing, that is a whoooole different story and you have to work for that especially in modern times it's really hard as an artist no matter how good your paintings are.

You need to look at the bigger picture and not only at this moment and you need to understand what other artists do to be recognised. They are putting alot of time into social media. You did it for 11 years, that means you got talent. You are 17 now. .

Imagine that if you keep following your passion, maybe in 5 years you will have time to do social media and feel like it and your skill will have grown so maybe you will get a side income with drawing.
And what about all the benefits for your mind and soul? Drawing is part of YOU, if you close painting it is like closing YOU.

This may be a gross imagination, but imagine you were to destroy your primary and secondary sexual parts of your body only because right now and in the past months no boy was seeing how beautiful you are. SO WHAT. There will be one. But you have to also show yourself to the world, not destroy yourself and hide in a room.

And if you want to get started already then start slowly by dedicating 30 mins each day to comment and like other artists (don't fake it and just comment for the sake of it, but be honest and sincere, people will feel it). It won't come back right away. But with time, think in months and years, it will.

yeah. I don't engage much in the social media a lot , since English isn't my first language so it takes me more time to read or write something, times slower than in my mother-tongue language (I have to search for words, i can't remember all the them)

yeah, really no one can understand and share with me this, they're afraid to accept the fact since it's personal and no one really cares. maybe i'll need time to rest my ability and wait to when i feel more comfortable. maybe i'll draw different things, i dont know. but i'll need time to recover.

i just bought a wacom for a month and just wanted to sell it, maybe in the future i'll no longer need it. If i do, maybe just for technical drawings on laptop. After hearing from you guys, maybe i'll let it be, dont use it for a while, but don't sell it.

Did anything happen that lead you to thinking all this? Did someone reject your paintings? If that is the case remember Leonardo da Vinci who was laughed upon at the time he lived and it took several generations for his art to be truly understood and valued.
Don't sell your wacom just yet, even if you are frustrated now. Give it some time.

I feel your pain @Halpherisdusfrey have the place and space to express ourselves is one of the most beautiful gifts ever. I agree with the rest, never trade or imprison your passion. It is your inner gift!

@A leaf yeah. I got some encouragement from pp in the fandom. I feel warmer now. Yeah it’s never a good idea to abstain from a good thing that you love to do. And it’s always a good idea to abstain from a thing you may feel good immediately if you do it but have mental effects in the long term. To do something and not to do something are things have to be comprehended.
