Too Much of a Good Thing

Hey everyone,

Without getting into the disgusting details of all of it, I decided to create an account in an effort to find a community to help hold me accountable for this habit that holds too firm of a grip on my life. I'm 27 years old and really tired of letting something as petty as jerking off get in the way of my life.

There's a lot more to it, but my story is similar to almost everyone's - started sneaking peeks at porn during the onset of puberty and found that when smartphones came along (conveniently timed with my starting my own life) I had a library of porn in my pocket with nobody to tell me to not look at it. I'm all for healthy doses of masturbation. But, I've discovered that the marriage of masturbation to pornography results in disaster, and as the title of this post suggests - too much of a good thing ends up poorly.

My goals are simple -
Talk to fellow fapstronauts for accountability; you all understand this habit.
Abstain/Reboot - I'm tired of being in a fog. I'm tired of my creative juices being sucked dry. I'm tired of those carnal manly desires being robbed of me.
Maintain - can't fall off the wagon.

I'm looking forward to sharing this journey with you. I'm looking forward to hearing your stories and being a pillar of strength for you.

For now, I've started a journal over in the 25 - 29 reboot logs; it's called Keep Your Hands Where I Can See Them if you want to check it out. Personally, I've always been ashamed of my porn addiction, so I don't keep a stash or cache of porn around, so I've not deleted any files, etc. But I have made strides to resist and keep my mind occupied.

Most importantly, I'm here seeking out the help of seasoned fapstronauts. With all this support, I'm looking forward to this difficult, yet rewarding journey.
