It's so helpful learning about addiction and how it effects a lot of aspects of our lives.

For example I am still struggling with seeing escorts. And every time after seeing one I would go and get something fatty like a burger and fries, some fried chicken or some fish and chips. After reading about addiction and that eating fatty food is a dopamine hit because it's speaks to the oldest part of our brain for survival, I know that i'm trying to make myself feel better after seeing the escort.

This brain of ours is so clever.

Wonderfully put. I found that seeing the different parts of the brain to be very helpful. On youtube, I suggest watching a 10-20 minute video on brain anatomy, and that gives enough detail to show how the various parts work. without it being overwhelmingly technical.

btw, I am an atheist and so don't really accept what you say about God etc. But it shows you that with this sort of stuff, believers and atheists have common ground.

@Dake1963 - We do share that common ground. There was a great Saint - St. Augustine - that shared a line "Our hearts are restless until they rest in You" (referring to God). When I was "restless" I used PMO to connect. What I have found over the past year, is that the depth of my desire to connect is ultimately a desire to connect with what I believe to be the origin and author of all creation. In my experience, my desire to connect met God's greater desire to connect with me.

    Just sharing my experience.

Thanks for the feedback. I truly want to help as many people as I can with what I have experienced. Never in my life would I have thought that I would not only make it this far, but also be truly at peace.

    GOD'S PEACE!!!

  15. A great success story, @LifeWorthLiving!!!

P.S. Your name reminds me of the telecast/tv show/book by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.

I didn't have a particular video in mind. But just go to youtube and search 'brain anatomy.' There are lots of videos of differing lengths, depending on how much detail you want.

Nothing to say but a kind thank you for this thread. I had never connected the dots about the procrastination bombs I often set for myself, which I then defuse at the last second and get high off the rush of near-disaster avoidance. The behavior has stuck out more and more as odd as I continue deeper into reboot, and now finally I have some valid insight into it. I'm not lazy and I never leave a task undone, so I was scratching my head about the procrastination.

Huge kudos for a great contribution to this community!

  20. This is inspiring and helpful. My next goal is 60 days. Want to be one of those 500+ days guys.
