I know we have this great giant red panic button above, for which I'm grateful. But people also mention having their own personal emergency kits to help keep them strong during the weaker times. What types of elements are you guys putting in your kits?

I keep a list with the reasons / motivations that I am quitting with me at all times. When I start to get weak, I review the list. Also, a picture of my child on my phone also helps to motivate me to quit.

Love that you keep it with you all the time--that's a clear level of commitment, and one I hadn't even thought of. Kid pic is a nice touch as well.

I mentioned in another thread after my last good binge I sat down the next day and wrote a letter to my future self about why that was such a bad idea and not one I want to repeat. I hadn't known of nofap at the time, much less about a kit, but I knew it was a good idea to list the reasons why I was ending that behavior while I was feeling awful and super clear about walking away. I figure it couldn't hurt to add to that.

Thanks for the reply, and good luck with your own recovery.

My trick is o have a key term. I just repeat "no arousal" in my head firmly to myself when ever I get slightly triggered. Seems to work haha.

I think one has to. As soon as things start getting tough, it's easy to flood one's mind with all the reasons they should return to the behavior. I for instance am on day 7 of blue balls. I know for a fact what will fix it (heck, it's even considered a treatment), but the reasons I'm giving it up serve as an important reminder.

Bumping my own thread, as I happened across this pic and wanted to share it. I love that it covers a lot of the pre-PMO slip states of mind & being.
