Night time before sleep in the worst

    when it comes to porn and my personal addiction it always happens at night. During the day I am fine I dont think about fapping at all. However at night right before I go to sleep the urge comes. Fapping has been my sleeping drug for the last couple of years. And now I struggle with slight insomnia now that i have no release. Im on my 8th day now of no porn or fapping and im ok. A little tense but ok. Still cant sleep though .
     
  2. Yeah I hear you. The insomnia will ease pretty soon - your body/mind is just getting used to not having that release before sleep.

    You can try meditating prior to sleep and focuse on deep breath and not thinking about anything.

    Pick a book and read it prior to the sleep. You can even make goals like I will read 5 or 10 pages for example. You can try some book that members here recommend or something that you yourself want to read. Most likely if you stay on PC or play with your phone you will have higher risk of relapsing also both of those are not really good activities to indulge in prior to sleep.

    If you can you can go for a walk prior to bed time and clear your negative thoughts... play music you like and so on if you want.

    I hear you man. Hitting that point too. Was able to avoid it the first couple weeks, but it hit hard last night. The key is definitely to clear the mind. I second all the things Purps said. I agree with HookerFan that exercise is helpful. I'd just add, be careful not to do it too late in the evening, though. It could give you more energy for a while. Right after work is usually the sweet spot for me. Good luck and stay strong. You're doing great!

  5. I'm in the same boat man! I've committed today for my first time to not PMO and I keep thinking about the last few moment before I go to bed. It's my habit and drug that puts me to sleep. I'm going to give this mediation thing a go. I've done a little in the past. There's a smartphone app that's actually pretty great for learning to mediate, it's called Buddhify. It's like $5, but it has this great pin wheel for picking your mood or state. Pick one and a spoken voice guides you through the 2 - 5 min breathing techniques.

    A insomnia treatment will help a lot, like sleep reduction teraphy. Other than that, it's all about learning to get out of bed and doing something until sleep comes.

    I totally get that. I am usually okay during the day, especially if I am at work but when the night comes, the "monster" wants to come out and it is so difficult to control. However, meditation and intensive running helped me yesterday when I was feeling more vulnerable than ever. I literally exhausted myself until the urges went away and actually I had a pleasant night. Try to do something at night time that keeps you distracted and stay away from your phone. Good luck mate :)

    Dark room + alone .. makes sense. just realize porn is fake and has nothing to do with sex,only naked people
